Ans. The process by which the green leaves prepare their own food in the presence of sunlight.

2. List the two characteristics of trees in the mountain areas .

Ans. The trees growing in the mountain areas are generally tall and conical in shape so that the snow falling on
them slips off easily .

 These trees like pine, deodar and fir have needle like leaves to reduce the rate of Transpiration .
3. What are aquatic plants?

Ans. The plants in Growing in or under the water surface is called Aquatic Plants.

4. Who are Mammals ?

Ans. Mammals are animals which give birth to their Young ones.They feed their milk to their young ones and
keep the baby close to them to protect them.

5. Why is breednsing of mosquitoes dangerous?

Ans. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water which are carries of disease like dengue and malaria .

Thus the breeding of mosquitoes is very dangerous.

6. What are mangroves?

Ans. Mangroves are trees growing in marsh lands, they have raised roots which allow them to breathe in
flooded soil. The roots also bind the soil avoiding soil erosion.

7.Define Reproduction ?

Ans.The process of giving birth to the young ones is called Reproduction.

8.What is Fodder?

Ans. The grass used as food for the animals.
