Introduction
One must comprehend what is modern community or modernity was to comprehend what
is meant by the term post-modernity. Somewhat confusingly, the modern community refers to
the European community roughly between 1650 to 1950. On the other hand, the post-modern
community refers to many other communities and European that is developed “post-industrial”
communities are distinct from the modern community, so much that it needed new theoretical
frameworks and new methods of study. Importantly, per Post-Modernists, what is distinct is that
those institutions that were stable and used to bind people together have much less influence
currently, and with the rise of media technologies and globalization, people are much free to
construct their identity and culture that they once were. Sociologists did not agree as to when
exactly postmodernism began. For some of them, its roots are lying in early modernity, and for
others, postmodernism doesn't start properly until the 1970a. Also, others explained that people
do not even live in a post-modern community at all. It is currently essential for people to get their
head around what a post-modern community is; due to that, post-modernity theorists explain that
structuralist theories of feminism and Marxism are no longer important and propose new ways of
'doing sociology.' Modernity is the term used to describe the "modern" period by sociologists,
The view that living modernity features and institutions have been restored to such an
ascending extent that the communities are distinct to the ‘modern’ community is known as post-
about thought. Post-modernists believe that understanding itself must be comprehended from a
different view to modernist sociologists like Functionalists and Marxists. This is following that

not all post-modernists are post-modernity theorists. Postmodernism is an approach that tries to
define how communities have advanced to an era exceeding modernity. Within these periods,
human beings are likely to hope to have a greater essential placed on rational and scientific
thoughts as metanarratives of tradition are no longer providing an important argument for post-
modern life. Additionally, traditionally, the post-modern community will have experienced
globalization, meaning that new religions will be integrated into this community. Therefore,
communities will be likely more on experiencing a 'mix and pick' culture when religion is
decided as people will be able to choose a religion that is best suited to their choices and
lifestyle.

over the world. Globalization in post-modern communities means that there are more ideas,
money, and information flows. Also, human beings are moving across national boundaries
technology as different from modern communities. The increasing digital media, specifically the
internet, has led to an unprecedented and massive rise in the number of human beings in the post-
modern community to use the media, unlike the modern community. Also, in the post-modern
communities, there is a huge rise in the media products diversity, both fictional and factual, more
flexibility, greater interactivity, and a rise in the number of human beings developing their
profile sites, videos, music, and uploading them for consumption by the public. All of these

outcomes are much more intricate patterns of mixing, media usage, and more picking. An effect
of this is that the communities have a rise reliance on the media because of post-modern
communities given people believe in what is going on globally, unlike modern communities.
They argue that the media war coverage, for instance, is distinct to reality yet is the only reality
most people know about. Moreover, new networks are emerging under media usage, most
obviously under profile sites like Facebook. One impact of this is the local community's
breakdown, as human beings are increasing on the usage of network online in the privacy of their
own homes and do not communicate with their next-door neighbors. These are all done by post-
modern communities, and it was not done in the modern communities making post-modern
A world in fragments.
The pace of change in post-modern communities is much more quickly than in modern
communities. Post-modern community is thus more fluid, more dynamic. The post-modern
community does not sit; still, it is a fidgeting child, and as an outcome, it lacks a stable, coherent
social structure. This is evidenced in music and fashion, breakdown of local communities’ areas.
On the local communities’ breakdown, there is an increase in labor flexibility associated with the
work world, meaning that human beings are moving more often in their lifetimes (Burr &
Sweeney, 2019). This is to mean; human beings are much less capable of putting down sable
roots in their post-modern local communities. This has been leading to a reduction in 'social
capital.' And on the music and fashion industries, in post-modern communities, these are the two
most visible instances of the fast pace of change which is constantly evolving with the musical
forms and new styles that emerge constantly. This happens with most of the artists who have to
Per the post-modernists, one of the basic differences between the modern community and
than work-oriented. This means that leisure activities and consuming things are more vital in the
community image is thus one of the shopping mall and not a factory (Edelman et al, 2017). Post-
modernists explain that people are living in a 'mix and pick' community. People nowadays are
unconstrained on picking their life course and lifestyle, from a broad options range than ever
people, just as if these people are choosing and picking products in a shopping mall (Barker et al,
2018). Post-modernists were essentially able to explain that their gender, ethnicity very little
shape people and class backgrounds. For instance, women are not believed to become mothers
and housewives, which is why they are women, and work is much less considered on gender than
it used to be in a modern community. The post-modern community is not anymore divided along
gender lines, class lines, or even ethnic lines, unlike in the modern community. Being born black,
being born a woman, being born a working-class, doesn't, per the post-modernist, pre-determine
community.
The ever-rising globalization pace has led to a rise in cultural hybridity and diversity in
the post-modern community being different from the modern community (Dobre et al, 2019).
This refers to the mixing of distinct cultural traditions. If the community for nowadays (post-

modern) and that of maybe a hundred or even fifty years ago are compared, it is seen that there is
a bewildering increase in the cultural and communal forms. Some of the more obvious instances
Services and goods: A simple trip to the shopping mall or the supermarket reveals a wide
range of products an individual can buy, and the same is obvious for services in a post-modern
Music and fashion: Also, people can spend many hours in a week only to choose what to
wear or buy, or sorting mp3s on an individual mp3 player. This is only done in post-modern
communities.
Conclusion
Overall, the above reasons explain why post-modern communities differ from modern
communities. On how post-modern approaches can become a fad and may be incapable of
have been essential to challenge modern community perspectives, and this has led to the
questioning of some of the traditional concepts like object and subject, function, meaning, and
communal reality. Out of the ruins of sociology, perhaps new sociology can be constructed,
which will provide an advanced comprehension of our communal world. Like in the article
the post-modern community has to be comprehended as a community beyond identity and unity.
Both tradition and society rejection, post-modern community is a new grouping kind. Each day is
offering several instances of small groups that are being seen as the embodying community.
