HOMEROOM GUIDANCE (HG) LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEET

(LAS) FOR GRADE 7
Quarter 2 – Week 1: My Road to Success

Name of Student: ______________________________ Section: _________

After going through this module, you are expected to:

1. share to others the relevant lessons that you have learned from
school and from community;
2. explain how others affect or influence your knowledge and skills;
and
3. appreciate the importance of lessons learned from school and from
community.

Introduction
Can you imagine how hard it is to climb up a coconut tree
especially if it is your first time and you are the first person to climb it? It will
probably amaze you to see how farmers take their easy way up to those tall
trees. The first climb is the hardest because the person who climbs first marks
and cuts slits on the bark of the tree that will serve as foot stop for the next
person who will climb it. This is similar to your experience as a learner. Your
family, the school and the community can help you in determining the path
that will lead you to success. In this module, you will learn how other people
in your lives and in the community can influence you.

Let’s Try This

Lesson Statement Box

Are you ready to share to others what you have learned from school and
from the community? If yes, what are those lessons learned that you can
share that others will be inspired too?
Copy the box in your HG notebook and write your response/s under
column A (Personal Response) and ask your family member to complete
column B (My Family Member’s Response). Answer the Processing Questions
after.

Processing Questions:
1. What can you say about your response/s and your family member’s
response/s? ________________________________________________________
2. How can you apply your lesson learned in this pandemic?
____________________________________________________________________
3. What do you think is the importance of using lessons learned in real
life situation? ______________________________________________________

They Helped Me to Learn

In a clean sheet of paper, Write and complete the following table. Under
Column A, list down information, skills or talent that you have recently
learned; under Column B, put the name of the person who helped you in
learning the information, skills or talent; and under column C, state how did
that person in column B help you. Answer the processing questions after
completing the table.

3. How do you show appreciation to those people who help you in learning
new things? ________________________________________________

Keep in Mind
L.E.A.R.N.I.N.G: My Road to Success
Academic success is not merely having high grades, excelling in
rote memorization, or taking up multiple courses. Academic success is a good
mix of learning the lesson and at same time making sense of what you have
learned. How will you know if you are learning and if you will be able to
achieve academic success? Here are some important points that you can take
note about L.E.A.R.N.I.N.G

List down important information: more than the required notes as part of
the academic requirement, it is important that you utilize note-taking as an
important skill in studying and learning. This will help you in keeping a record
and in the retrieval of information that you might need in the future.

Engage in learning activities. These may not always happen in school or as

initiated by your subject teachers. Learning activities may be any learning
opportunity that you may experience at home, in school or in your
community.

Ask relevant questions. Asking questions or inquiry is part of the learning

process. Do not hesitate to ask questions in order for you to have a better
understanding about something that interests you or about things that may
not be clear for you. Through asking questions, it will be easier for you to
make sensible judgment, and eventually make better decisions.

Read, read, read! Reading is an important skill that you will use profoundly
in your daily life. Make it a habit to allot an hour or two for reading. Reading
will help you gain better understanding about many things.
Nurture your interests. Be with people who support your plans and
interests, and participate in relevant activities. The people around you can
share information, skills and talents that will better engage you.

5
`

Initiate action. In learning something new, it is important to act on it. You

should not wait for others to push you to learn new things. This is the best
time to acquire new skills and to enjoy the huge information available in
books, websites and other materials around you. You may ask the help from
your older siblings or other family members. Asking a question is an initial
action toward learning.

Navigate your direction. Along with initiating action, it is important that

you navigate or plan how you want to proceed. Take time to make a plan of
action and look at possibilities on how you can apply what you have learned
in your daily life experience.

Get things done. Finishing what you started is a way to maximize learning.
At this point, you may have a lot of interests and you are eager to learn,
however, it is important that when you start something, you also need to
finish it. Setting a time table will be helpful.

You can do it

“Choose LEARNING”
Choose one from L, E, A, R, N, I, N and G. Write down 3 ways on how
you are going to apply this in this new normal? An example has been provided
to guide you.

Example: R – Read, Read, Read!

1. I will choose the book that I want to read/ recommended by my
siblings/family members.
2. I will set the time in a day for reading (every 4:00 PM); when I am done
with my homework.
3. I will make sure that I finish the book before the exam week

pursue learning or how the person made you to learn more. You
may write a short paragraph (3-5 sentences). Write this in your HG
notebook.

HOMEROOM GUIDANCE (HG) LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEET

(LAS) FOR GRADE 7
Quarter 2 – Week 3: Me and My Decisions

Name of Student: ___________________________________ Section: _________

At the end of this session, you should be able to:

1. identify the steps in making sound and reasonable decision;
2. promote self- trust as to making sound decision; and
3. create a self-trust plan.

Introduction

Life is about making choices. There is a choice you have to make

in everything you do. We make choices about the clothes we wear,
the food we eat, the people we meet, the time we turn up to study and go to
school. You as a person need to decide and choose the right and best choice
in life and career. In this activity, you will try to identify the steps in making
healthy and reasonable decisions.

Let’s Try This

What’s in My Bag?

Imagine that the world is now free from the pandemic. You and
your family decided to go on hiking and explore the beauty of Mount Labo for
3 days. You are only allowed to bring a medium sized bag so it is light for you
to carry. Draw inside the bag 5 things that you would prefer to bring. Decide
wisely because you must only bring limited items. Do this in your HG
notebook.

Processing Questions:
1. Were you able to bring the most essential items you and your
family will need?

Why or why not? Explain your answer. ___________________________

Keep in Mind
Decision Making is the Ultimate Power

Decision making is part of your daily living. You need to

carefully choose from the options and make wise choices. Making sound and
reasonable decisions is a crucial skill that must be developed at every stage
of life especially in the adolescent period.

The following are the five basic steps in making a decision:

1. Define the problem
2. Gather information about the issue or problem
3. Know your options
4. Weigh the pros and cons of each option
5. Take the courage to decide and act on it

If the issue or problem is not solved, go back to step number 1 and follow the
other steps again until you succeed. Asking yourself and reflecting about
these following questions may also aid and guide you in making decisions.
1. Why do I want to do this?
2. What results am I looking for?
3. Am I ready to follow through?

If your answers are honest then you will make the right decisions. Always
bear in mind that your choices reflect your hopes and not your fears. Do not
be afraid of failures, instead constantly remind yourself that you are a working
masterpiece from the Creator. You can shine so bright and you could be your
own spotlight just believe in your ultimate power in making decisions.

You can do it

Directions: Think of the time where you make successful choices

and decisions. Write down one of those experiences together with
the steps and considerations you take in order to make it fruitful. However, if
the result of your decision is not a positive one then ask yourself this – If you
can travel back in time and be given a chance to make other options and

HOMEROOM GUIDANCE (HG) LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEET

(LAS) FOR GRADE 7
Quarter 2 – Week 4: Decision Making for the Common Good

Name of Student: _______________________________ Section: _________

After going through this activity, you are expected to:

1. analyse possible outcome of decision-making for the common good;
2. appreciate the importance of parents, teachers, significant others
and your experiences in making good decisions; and
3. create a collage on how you will show care to others as you make
decisions for the common good.

Introduction
In the previous activity, you learned about the importance of
making choices as part of our everyday life. You also identified the
steps in making sound decisions. But somehow it is difficult to
decide on your own because you are still young and there are different factors
that you have to consider in making your decision. Now, let’s try to appreciate
the role of your teachers, parents and other significant persons in your life as
they help and guide you in constructing appropriate steps to make sound
decisions. Your learnings will be useful in making decisions that work best
for you and for the common good.

Let’s Try This

One of the important lessons we learned from this pandemic is
the Bayanihan spirit and Filipino values that still exist in modern
times. One concrete example is the community pantry which aims
to help the needy.
“I DARE YOU”
Imagine that you won in the virtual fiesta game in the Paruyan Festival
in Talisay, Camarines Norte. Your prize is Ᵽ 50, 000. To advocate the
bayanihan spirit, you were requested to create a community pantry in honor
of Saint Francis of Assissi. Winning a big amount is a once in a lifetime
chance. You also need the money for your family and your chance to buy a
gadget for your class. How will you decide? Answer the questions below in
your HG notebook.
1. Will you respond positively to the request? ____________________________
2. Why or why not? Explain your answer. _______________________________
____________________________________________________________________
3. Who will you ask for help in your decision-making? _________________
4. Why do you choose to ask help from him/her/them? __________________

15
`

Keep in Mind

Life is about making choices. Deciding on your own may be difficult

at your age. Children like you need guidance from parents,
guardians or older siblings in making decisions. There are many factors that
influence your decision making like peer, environment, family, beliefs,
culture, knowledge, skills and many more. Thus, as you make sound
decisions, always bear in mind that there are people whom you trust and
whom you can rely on for help. The following questions may help you reflect
if you make your decision right for the common good.

1. How do I benefit from society?

2. Who benefits from my action?
3. By benefiting society, did I help others progress as well as myself?

Making decisions never comes easy. People who have experienced making
good and bad decisions learn from their experiences as well. Always remind
yourself that if you fail, never give up. Knowledge comes from our experiences
and it makes a person wise.

You can do it
FLOWER GRATITUDE
Use the template in answering this activity. On the flower petal write
down the names of your parents, teacher and significant others who
helped and influence you in your decision making. State also the reason why
you are grateful to them. You may use colors that would show the significance
of their colors to your life. Do this in your HG notebook.

Significant Persons in My Life

Welcome to the adolescent period stage! This is the time of your life
where you can compare it to a roller coaster ride. There will be lots
of ups and downs moments in your journey, however you have the choice to
scream or enjoy the ride. Part of enjoying the ride is by creating rainbows in
your life. This represents the people that surround you. They are the closest
to you in terms of proximity as your immediate family members. They are the
ones with whom you share the same roof, have close and meaningful
interaction.

The other people in your rainbow are the ones whom you interact with
but you don’t live with them. They are not related to you or you only see or
hear them through social media. Your immediate family members, mostly
your parents, teachers and guidance counselors are the primary people who
make a major influence in your life when it comes to career development and
career planning. You may consider them as career influencers because you
look up to and admire them for what they have accomplished and taught you
in life. You may consider them significant as they become your inspiration in
life in making the right career path.

You can do it

Fill in the Blanks

The one professional person that I admire the most is ________________

because (state the reason why do you admire him/ her) ____________________
The following are the qualities makes me admire him or her:
1. ___________________________________________________
2. ___________________________________________________
3. ___________________________________________________
4. ___________________________________________________
5. ___________________________________________________

What I have Learned

Make a short letter of appreciation to the significant other who

influences you or whom you admire the most when it comes to pursuing a
career. Include in your letter the reasons why you are grateful to have
him/her, the lessons you cherish and treasure about them. If they are within
your reach, give it to them and have a picture with them. If they are far from
you, you can send it through online or any means where you can let the
person know how much you appreciate them.
