“Health is Wealth (Active Lifestyle)”

Learning Competency:
Sustainable habits that support an active lifestyle

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

• determine the importance of proper physical fitness and activity.


• recognize the normal body weight according to their height and weight.
• practice healthy eating habits.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Health is Wealth (Active Lifestyle)
Time Frame: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Reference: Module in Physical Education 9

III.Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities

1. Roll call of Attendance


2. Getting to know each other
3. Stretching
4. Warm-up Exercise

Motivation
Activity 1:“Guess Me (Amazing Games)”
Mechanics of the game:
1. Class will be divided into 2 groups
2. There will be a 5 stationary quest that have a different physical or recreational
challenge
3. Each station have only 5 minutes to finish the quest to get the clue to answer the
hidden item in the table
4. Whoever team gets the answer first will be the winner and a bonus for their next
exam.

C. Presentation
The teacher will now proceed to formal discussion after the pre-assessment. Teacher
will present the new topic “Basic Fundamental Arms and Feet Positions” through
laptop and projector using PPT presentation, video clips and pictures. Starting from
1st position down to 5th position of arms and feet.

• Why do you think they have this kind of body type?
• What aspects of your lifestyle do you think you should be most attentive
to?
• Why do you think so?

D. Discussion
The teacher will present a short film relating to lifestyle of a teenager.

E. Generalization
The teacher will let the students give their realization about the short film.
Application
Activity 2: I Love Me
The teacher will divide the class in to five groups and give them the chance to
facilitate themselves to get their height and weight to compute their own Body Mass
Index with the used of formula given by the Teacher. And categorized according to
their computed BMI (Underweight, Normal, Overweight, Obese). The students will
make a reflection about the result of their BMI. And make a proper physical activity
according to one’s fitness level daily.
