 Definitions

1. SL Entrepreneurs

SL Entrepreneurs is the business networking division of StartupLanes that is a Startup

Accelerator. It is a StartupLanes group company registered as SL Enterpreneurs Pvt.
Ltd.

2. Regional Director

Regional Director is the head of a particular City and is responsible to manage the
operations of SL Entrepreneurs. All the meetups and other events of StartupLanes shall
be under the direction of the Regional Director.

3. Chapter Director

Chapter Director is the title allocated to the person who heads the entire chapter of SL
Entrepreneurs. A chapter director acts as a representative of SL Entrepreneurs Pvt. Ltd.
for the chapter. The chapter directors directly manage the group of members in the
assigned chapter. The chapter director is appointed by regional director after
consulting with the SL Entrepreneurs management.

4. Associate Director

Associate Director does the similar work of a Chapter Director, and hosts the Chapter
Meeting when the Chapter Director is unable to host a StartupLanes meetup. The
associate director will also be the most common choice for becoming the next chapter
director among the members.

5. Bronze Member

The member of SL Entrepreneurs who join free is referred as a ‘Bronze Member’.

Bronze members enjoy a host of benefits for joining StartupLanes. They can be referred
as SLite.
6. Gold Member (SLite)

The registered members of SL Entrepreneurs who have paid the annual membership
fee are referred as ‘Gold Members’. This is the membership with maximum benefits
(please refer to Membership Document for details). Gold member shall also be referred
as SLite.

7. Community Manager

The Community Manager is an employee of SL Entrepreneurs who add members and

manage the communities of StartupLanes.

8. Community Head

The Community Head is an employee of SL Entrepreneurs who heads a particular zone

having cluster of community managers under him/her.

9. Blacklisting

Any SLite whether paid or free member, who does not follow the rules of the group will
be blacklisted. This implies that he/she will be forbidden from using any of our services
and may be immediately removed from the Eco-System including the WhatsApp and
Telegram Groups. This blacklisting will be forever life.
 Objective

The objective of this Charter is to establish

the rules and regulations for the effective
functioning of the WhatsApp and Telegram
Groups of StartupLanes.
StartupLanes is an eco-system for startups
that is facilitated by its business networking
division: SL Entrepreneurs that is a Startup
Accelerator.
WhatsApp and Telegram Groups of
StartupLanes are the efficient, effective and
quick method of communication with and
among the Entrepreneurs in the network.
 About StartupLanes

• StartupLanes is an ecosystem dedicated to support the Startups Worldwide.

• It is an eco-system for startups that has three pillars: Funding, Branding & Sales.

• All the companies have prefix as ‘SL’ that stands for StartupLanes.

 About Founder

• StartupLanes is founded by Shishir Gupta. He is the Group CEO of StartupLanes.

• Shishir launched his first startup in year 2001.

• He is the author of Bestselling book for Startups: Startup Easy

• He is an International Consultant for Startups & Venture Capital. He is among Top 20

Consultants Globally with ranking of 12.

• He has 19+ years of vast business experience with specialization in Startups.

• Shishir developed his first computer application in year 1997. It was an inventory
control and billing application that was developed for MS DOS in C++/Clipper and used
FoxPlus as a database.

• He has firsthand experience as an Entrepreneur, Mentor, Consultant, Investment

Banker, Lawyer and Angel Investor.

• Shishir is an MBA in Marketing & Finance, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and a
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.

fundraising. Entrepreneurs meet offline regularly on weekly basis. All the WhatsApp
Groups and Telegram Groups fall under this division.

agreements and reading of legal documents at extremely affordable prices.

8. SL Learning: Corporate Training , Learning & Education for Startups & Corporates.
 WhatsApp Group Objectives

Each WhatsApp Group is created for the following purpose:

1. To solve the problems of Entrepreneurs by taking the help of community.

2. Knowledge sharing and collaboration with other Entrepreneurs.
3. Business leads exchange, developing business relationships, exploring business
opportunities and generating business through networking.
4. Updating about news and current trends in the industry.
5. Forming a platform for offline meetups as real relationships are in real World, virtual
World may create virtual relationships only.
6. Ensuring growth to each Gold member through structured process.
7. Answering queries of members related to services offered by StartupLanes Group
Companies.
8. Handholding, mentorship, advisory and guidance through quick communication to the
Gold members.
9. Connecting the Gold members to the Global community through Regional Directors,
Chapter Directors, Associate Directors & Community Managers spread across the
World.
10. Forming association that protects the rights of Entrepreneurs and constantly work in
their favour.
11. Announcing the updates and new developments in StartupLanes ecosystem.
12. Updating about the events organised by StartupLanes.
 Member Eligibility

Each member whether bronze or gold should fulfil the eligibility criteria:

1. The person should be Founder of a Startup or Potential Founder of a Startup. We also

allow CxOs, mentors and known investors.
2. The Startup should be innovative, running and disruptive.
3. The Startup should be enabled by technology or may be a Tech Startup.
4. The Startup should have a legal identity as LLP, LLC, Pvt. Ltd. or Firm.
5. There should not be any criminal case pending or running against the person.
6. The person should be above the age of 18.
7. The person should speak, read and understand English.
8. The person should have an active LinkedIn profile.
9. The person should have a WhatsApp account.
10. The person should stay physically in the same city for which the WhatsApp Group exists.
 Member Guidelines

Each member whether free, silver or gold should follow the guidelines below:

1. Each member may select working at StartupLanes.com as their current work title at
LinkedIn. They should mention their title as “Entrepreneur” at “StartupLanes.com”.
This will help them receive all the updates by other members and the core management
of StartupLanes along with that they can be easily searched at LinkedIn.

This will grow their business and provide them great exposure. They will also be able to
see the connections of each other. StartupLanes doesn’t create a separate list of
Entrepreneurs in the Eco-system, they are searched on LinkedIn only, through this
method.
2. Each member may like the StartupLanes Facebook Page, StartupLanes LinkedIn Page
and may join the Facebook Group for Entrepreneurs and StartupLanes Linkedin Group.
3. Each member should come for the StartupLanes meetup happening in his/her city
regularly and also join the online meetups organized by StartupLanes.
4. Each member should stay in regular touch with the Chapter Director.
5. Each member should contribute something meaningful for the group every day.
6. Each member should focus upon helping the group members, first you should be giver
and then a taker.
7. Each member should check the group at least twice a day.
8. Each member should fill in his/her details in the form. You may be removed if we don’t
have your details in the form and complete the KYC process by uploading the ID proofs
and signing the membership agreement.
9. Each member should ensure that his/her WhatsApp group isn’t on mute.
10. Each member should connect with the Regional Director at least once in a month.
 WhatsApp Group Rules

Each member should abide by the following rules:

1. Hate, porn, religion, politics, abuse, or discrimination related posts are strictly
FORBIDDEN.

2. Forwarded messages like Good Morning, Good Night are FORBIDDEN. Only hand
written custom messages are allowed in case greeting is required.

3. Any Startup related forwarded message is ALLOWED, however, it should NOT be a Self
Promotion.

4. Self-Promotions are allowed ONLY on TUESDAY between 10 am to 1 pm and FRIDAY

between 10 am to 1 pm, as per the time zone of the whatsapp group. The Self Promotion
must contain the custom offer for StartupLanes members. It should NOT be a
generalized message for all. It should contain the word “StartupLanes” or “SLites” and
should be formatted as per the template. Please refer to Promotion Guidelines section.

Note - Tuesday: 10 am to 1 pm | Friday: 10 am to 1 pm

5. Fighting and Heated Arguments are FORBIDDEN in Group.

6. The team of StartupLanes including Chapter Director, Regional Director, Community

Manager, Associate Director, Co-Founder, CEO, Employee of SL Group Company or
Anyone authorized by StartupLanes management is free to post any content that is
beneficial to the group or is informative in nature, it will not be considered as
promotional content and therefore the rule of Tuesday & Friday as mentioned in point 4
doesn’t apply.

7. Any critical information that affects day to day life of the society and business is
acceptable, e.g. Demonetization News, Income Tax etc.
8. Any information that is meant to save a life of a person is acceptable to be shared in the
group, e.g. Blood Requirement.

9. Any achievement of a group member is acceptable to be shared in the group, provided

that it is relevant to startups/business.

10. Any type of business requirement can be posted in the group, however, JOB POSTS are
allowed ONLY on WEDNESDAY between 10 am to 1 pm. Please refer to template of job
posts in the Job Posts Guidelines.

11. Any other GROUP INVITATION is FORBIDDEN. Also, personal messages to group
members for inviting them to any other group is FORBIDDEN.

12. Sending personal messages of promotional in nature to group members is FORBIDDEN.

13. Only messages written in ENGLISH language are ALLOWED.

14. Posts related to EVENTS without Co-branding of StartupLanes are FORBIDDEN.

15. The person should physically be present in the city and/or reside in the city where the
group exists. A member is allowed to join ONLY ONE GROUP.

16. Only meeting invites of StartupLanes are allowed. Any other virtual meeting or online
meeting invite is FORBIDDEN.
 Promotion Guidelines

All members should follow the guidelines as mentioned below:

1. Only Text based messages are allowed. In case an image or video is needed to be shared,
a text should prefix before the image/video in the template format as prescribed.
2. Only one unique promotional post is allowed in one day.
3. Promotions should offer exclusive discount, gifts or benefits to StartupLanes members.
This is MANDATORY for all the promotional posts.
4. If members reply to your promotional posts, you should ask them to discuss in personal
window.
5. Please refer to the templates for post contents.

 Telegram Group

The StartupLanes.com Telegram Group is one of the largest groups for Entrepreneurs in the
World. All the rules that apply to WhatsApp Group applies here except these mentioned below:

1. As Telegram Group has big limit, it is not city wise, in fact it is one single Global group
for all. You may be located anywhere in the World, to join this group.
2. You should follow all the guidelines before posting.
