I. Identification

ENTREPRENEURIAL PROCESS 1. A process of pursuing a new venture that involves more than just
problem solving in a typical management position.

SOLE/SINGLE PROPRIETORSHIP 2. Business owned by only one person. It is easy to set-up and is
the least costly among all forms of ownership.

COOPERATIVE 3. Business organization owned by a group of individuals and is operated for their
mutual benefit.

OPPORTUNITY RECOGNITION 4. The active, cognitive process (or processes) through which
individuals conclude that they have identified the potential to create something new that has the potential
to generate economic value and that is not currently being exploited or developed, and is viewed as
desirable in the society in which it occurs.

PARTNERSHIP 5. Business owned by two or more persons who contribute money or property into the
entity with the intention of dividing the profits among themselves.

MANUFACTURING BUSINESS 6. Buys raw materials and converted into finished product for sale.

HYBRID BUSINESS 7. Companies that may be classified in more than one type of business.

CORPORATION 8. Business organization that has a separate legal personality from its owners.

FRANCHISING 9. Business relationship between two entities wherein one party allows another to sell
its products and intellectual property.

MERCHANDISING 10. Business buys products at wholesale price and sells the same at retail price.
They are known as "buy and sell" businesses.

GENERAL CONSTRUCTION FIRMS 11. Refers to those engaged in the construction of buildings
whether for private individuals or for the government.

WHOLESALING 12. Refers to the activities of those persons or establishments which sell to retailers
and other merchants, and/or to industrial, institutional, and commercial users, but who do not sell in large
amounts to final consumers.

RETAILING 13. Covers all the activities involved in the sale of goods and/or services to the final
consumers.
REPAIR SERVICES 14. Those that provide repair services to owners of various machinery and
appliances.

FRANCHISING 15. Has the right to use its trademark or trade-name as well as certain business systems
and processes, to produce and market a good or service according to certain specifications.
