Globalization Challenge, Geography Requirements

You will use your knowledge of your company and effect to create a timeline and thematic map.

Your geography portions must be included on your website (Timeline) as well as a part of your
presentation (Map).

Learning Objective:
 Explain the history of your company and significant events
 Find relationships between specific company and effect

Success Criteria:
 List all important aspects of company, from inception to present day
 List various important details that relate to your given “effect”
 Draw ties and conclude the relationship between your company and effect
 Construct a thematic map including both company and effect

Timeline Project: Each group will have a timeline on their website that outlines and helps explain their
company and operations. The timeline should include all important details they find relevant. Such
information could include; inception, milestones, lawsuits, etc. The more relatable to the “effect” the
better. After the timeline is finished, you must write a response that compares/contrasts the relationship
between both the company and effect details from the timeline. All guidelines and requirements can be
found on the Geography Timeline Rubric.

Thematic Map: Each group will need to produce a thematic Map relating to their company and effects.
This map should show the causal relationships between globalization and their effect, through the lense
of their company/companies. For example, if your effect is health, you could show obesity rates in
countries compared to number of fast food restaurants in that country. Your map must be big enough for
everyone to see during your presentation, so begin thinking about what supplies you need. Your map
also needs to include all elements of a map, (legend/key, color, scale, compass, etc).Your map must
support your thesis statement/purpose of presentation. All guidelines and requirements can be found on
the Geography Map Rubric.
