 For morning session, the title of which has been discussed is Towards

industry 4.0. Industry 4.0 refers to the fourth industrial revolution. In short, the first

industrial revolution began with the existence of mechanization, steam power and

water power. Second industrial revolution involved mass production and assembly

lines using electricity. This was followed by third industrial revolution where

electronics, I.T. systems and automation are used, which led to the fourth industrial

revolution that is associated with cyber physical systems.

industry 4.0 can be describes as a trend in an effort to increase innovation

towards automation and data exchange in technologies and processes in the

manufacturing industry. This is also including the industrial internet of things (IIoT),

smart factories, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, Cyber-physical system and

many more. For example, machines in factories are connected with wireless

connectivity and sensors to monitor and visualise the production data that can also

make autonomous decisions.

So, one of the presentations is about conceptual design of cloud-based data

pipeline for smart factory. Smart factory described as concept where the application

of different modern technologies to create self-adapting manufacturing capability.

Cloud based data pipeline is a web service that can be use to move data between

different storage service. For example, Amazon Web Service (AWS) can be use in

small industry to keep their important files, message or other information. Web

service like that can have lot of service, some of it are big data management, hybrid

cloud, artificial intelligence, storage database and many more. So, smart factory with

cloud-based data pipeline creates manufacturing intelligence which will give positive

impact in all aspects of operation in industry.
