Title: Learning Multiplication Skills Using Different Apps

Relevant SC Standards: 3.ATO.4 Determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication or

division equation relating three whole numbers when the unknown is a missing factor, product,

dividend, divisor, or quotient.

Description: This app lesson will help 3rd grade students better understand how to do

multiplication and division math problems.

Instructional Objective: Students will be able to practice how to do different multiplication and

division problems.

Step 1: The first app we will be using is called “Math-E learn the times tables”. The students will

be able to use some class time to utilize this app to help them better understand how to do

multiplication and division problems. This app is game based and the students will play by

themselves just practicing different problems that the app asks you. The app is kid friendly and

the theme is all neon.

Step 2: After having the students practice their multiplication and division skills on Math-E by

themselves, I will open the app called My Math Flashcards and connect it to the projector. With

this app, it allows students to practice the basic arithmetic skills by showing different types of

math problems on flashcards. I will project this app onto the board and have students one by one

whoever volunteers, come up to the board and play the game so the students can get more

practice in.

Step 3: After using the my math flashcards app on the board, the students will go on to Google

classroom and they will navigate to a math page that I created for them so they can see all their

assignments and their will be a small quiz for them to take. This is so I can see how much they

know and how they are retaining this new information.

Step 4: Once the students are done taking the quiz, I will allow them to navigate to another app

called Math Land. This app is really fun for kids because it allows them to make their own avatar

and then they complete challenges that are math questions and if they answer the questions right,

they progress forward to new lands in the game. I will let the students use this app after the quiz

because it is not only educational but, really fun and interactive as well. I will have the students

do as many levels as they can in a certain amount of time and then they will take a screenshot of

their progress on this app so I can review it.
