The children will be able to recall the qualities of each character in the play
The children will execute the play in the correct order of the seasons

I will tell a story about 4 friends named Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. The characters will be
described by the colors exhibited during each season, and their moods and temperaments. The
children will be assigned roles. Seasons, animals associated with seasons, and townspeople.

Costumes (green leaves, red/orange leaves, brown branches, snow)
Jackets
Gloves
Sun hats
Flowers
Fruit baskets
4. Direct Instruction (Define lesson step by step) 15 pts
1. The children will explain their character before starting the play

3. The children will act out the play, following the order of the seasons

DAP Principle: Teaching developmentally appropriate lessons. This activity is developmentally
appropriate because it expands on free play with characters and costumes by incorporating components
of memorization and understanding of environments

This activity is inclusive because every child is given a role. No role is more important than another.

Culture is incorporated because the children will be allowed to expand on their character by
incorporating what that season means to them. The children will, in turn, learn more about each other
while planning the play.

The lesson is planned well, but there is a necessity of costumes, which might be difficult. The play would
still work without costumes but wouldn’t be as visually enriching.
