Happy Holidays!
The St. Stephens Newsletter
Newsletter Assistance is Needed!
• We are looking for volunteers to assist with the monthly newsletter. Since it was restarted
back in September, LaChecha Sheppard has been in charge of the task of creating the
newsletter and its content and Heather Crouse has been in taking charge of its distribution.
We would very much like this to be a church family project if possible. Creating the
newsletter each month takes a bit of time and really shouldn't fall on the responsibility of
just one or two people. So we are looking for help! Please reach out to LaChecha Sheppard
to inquire on how you can be of assistance to help lighten the load. No experience
required!!
Building Updates
• Church beautification project continues!! On Sunday November 7th a few members of the
church braved the chilly weather to plant new bulbs and plants in the courtyard. We want
to extend a HUGE thank you to Janet Voss for leading the project and the church family
who assisted in the afternoon's work: Alex Emert, Lee Dean, Devon Jones, Pat Baker, Nancy
Burris, and LaChecha Sheppard.

Meet our Contractor: Carlos Perez

Many parishioners have inquired as to who we hired to complete our recent exterior refresh, so
we figured we would share the story of how we came to know our new favorite friend, Mr. Carlos
Perez. Carlos came to St. Stephens based on a recommendation from the Poore family who
recently had work completed at their home. Carlos was gracious enough to come out on Father’s
Day Sunday to meet us and provide us a work estimate. Based out of Georgetown, DE this super
nice man and fellow Christian was impressed with the beauty of the church and was more than
happy to work with us within a reasonable budget to help us achieve our goals. He and his crew of
just two other men took on the task of giving St, Stephens its well needed overhaul in grueling
summer heat and humidity and all the while staying true to his 3-week deadline. He and his crew
did such a great job, we called him back to complete the second project of the exterior doors. As
you can see when you visit, St. Stephens has a brand new spark that we are truly excited about and
we hope that we can continue additional refresh projects with him in the future. If you or someone
you know is looking for someone who does, painting, siding, roofing, sheds, porches or just an
overall handy man, give Carlos a call! Tell him that St. Stephens sent ya!
