Tender specification Grundfos Distributed Pumping

The tender text is split into three sections. Section one covering the total Distributed Pumping solution as
part of the chilled water application. Secondly, (1) Primary side will be covered and finally (2) the
secondary side.

Grundfos Distributed Pumping in the chilled water application

 The overall system shall actively be able to prevent delta-T collapse

 The overall system shall be able to deliver the lowest energy consumption possible
 The overall system shall be able to deliver significant downsizing potential on head(m)
requirement
 The overall system shall be able to actively reduce system pressure in the hydronic system
 The overall system shall autonomously be able to react to different load demands.
 The primary and secondary side shall be hydraulically separated via decoupling
 The overall system shall automatically balance primary and secondary side

Primary side
 BMS will take full responsibility for system start-up, synchronization and primary pump
speed modulation. Hence forward this is referred to as “Primary Pump Control”
 The primary pump control shall actively be able to prevent deltaT collapse
 The primary pump control shall be able to safeguard minimum flow to Chillers
 The primary pump control shall be able to cascade minimum 6 pumps
 The primary pump control shall be able to control pumps based on both temperature and
flow references
 The primary pump controller shall be able to perform pump cut-in/out

Secondary side
 The flow modulating device must be including an integrated frequency drive
 The flow modulating device shall be completely autonomously controlled
 The flow modulating device shall actively be able to reduce or increase pressure in the
load/load zones autonomously or by external setpoint
 The flow modulating device shall be including connectivity to BMS/BAS or cloud based
solutions
 The flow modulating device shall be able to integrate with analog sensors at the loads. E.g.
differential pressure sensor, supply air temperature sensor.
 The flow modulating device shall be able to control flow to branches of a load zone
 The flow modulating device shall be able to limit a maximum volume flow to a load
 The flow modulating device shall be able to autonomously regulate its flow according to
load demand
