TEENAGE PREGNANCY:

cause, effect, and prevention

CAUSE: LACK OF
KNOWLEDGE
ABOUT SEX
According to Onyehalu A., adolescents in many
societies have a misguided understanding of sex.
Sex education is one way that would open
adolescent sense of curiosity in sex and ensure
that the necessary information is presented by
an adult. Since today's youth are more interested
in sex than ever before, sex education and
counseling programs are more important than
ever.

EFFECT: BABY

BLUES
The "baby blues" is one of the effects
that a woman may experience after
giving birth. Mood swings, worry,
depression, overwhelm, difficulties
concentrating, food problems, and
sleeping problems are some of the
symptoms (Healthline, 2016).

PREVENTION:
SEXUAL ABSTINENCE

Lone Star College explained that

abstinence means not having
intercourse with anyone. Abstinence is
sometimes used as a form of birth
control to avoid pregnancy. Pregnancy
is impossible to achieve if you are
completely abstinent all of the time.
