Meeting Summary
Our general membership meeting was held
December 4th at 7pm at the range.
Summer 3-D Shoot:
Due to a possible logging contract, the
Boise National Forest will not agree to
lease the Tripod area to us for our annual
3-D shoot. We are currently trying to
locate another location to hold our summer
3-D shoot. If you have ideas, please
contact Virgil or Cathy Dowell.
Common Area Clean-up Update:
Apparently, the contractors are waiting
for testing results to come back. We are
really hoping to be able to utilize the
restrooms and common area after the
first of the year.
Sign:
In case you are wondering what happened
to our sign out front, the big wind storm
that happened early Wednesday morning,
November 27th ripped it to pieces. The
Idaho Department of Fish & Game is
encouraging us to do something temporary
until they decide what is going to happen
with the “gun side”. We will cover it to
protect what is left. The insurance will
cover it but there is a $1,000 deductible.
Estimates are being obtained. In the
meantime, we have ordered a banner that
we will hang until we are able to get a new
sign.

Range Maintenance/Improvements:
Plans are being made for updating and
improving the range. A list of projects is
posted on the bulletin board. Keep an eye
out on email, Facebook, the range calendar
and the bulletin board for work party
dates. Target date for completion is
December 31, 2019. We will be changing
out cardboard, putting wooden borders
over the metal on the target butts,
reinforcing the back of the target butts,
repainting, and replacing weather
stripping. The roll up door has already
been sanded and repainted, thank you to
Jeff Derouin and Rick Boyack.
Bowhunter awards:
Best of Species awards will be given at the
banquet (date to be announced). Any
member who harvested an animal with a
bow, in 2019, can enter. To be eligible for
the Big Game Awards the member must be
a member before the animal is harvested
and have completed the 4 designated work
hours for the club. If you have a picture
of your animal (even if you aren’t entering)
we would love to see it. Send it to
Nampabowchiefs@gmail.com.
Bert Croy will be scoring the animals at
the January 1 meeting. Please make
certain heads are CLEAN.
Target Frames:
Cathy Dowell will be putting the finishing
touches on the “300” frames that were
built by Joe Tooley. After they are
stained, we will use those to display the
latest perfect scores of our shooters.
Shoot Flyers:
Please help us spread the word by
distributing flyers for our upcoming
Caldwell Indoor 3-D Shoot. A stack of
yellow flyers are on the table by the
office. Please take some and post or give
out for distribution.
Turkey Shoot:
Pete Thompson hosted the annual turkey
shoot the evening of Thanksgiving. They
had 14 shooters. First place team:
Clayton and Brook, 2nd: Pete and Caleb,
3rd: Nathan and Molly. Congratulations!

the first Wednesday of most months.

Free Memberships
What’s that? A free membership? Did you
know that you can earn a free membership
just by being actively involved in our club?
Our By-Laws state:
If a single membership member works at least 20
hours for the club at sponsored Club work party(s)
or in personal endeavors as approved by the Board
of Directors, their individual membership for the
following year (including a key fee) shall be free. If
a single membership member works at least 10
hours for the club at sponsored Club work party(s)
or in personal endeavors as approved by the Board
of Directors, their individual membership for the
following year (including a key fee) shall be half
membership dues.
If a family membership member/s works at least 40
hours for the club at a work party(s) or in personal
endeavors as approved by the Board of Directors,
their individual membership for the following year
including the key fee, shall be free. If a family
membership member/s works at least 20 hours for
the club at sponsored Club work party(s) or in
personal endeavors as approved by the Board of
Directors, their individual membership for the
following year (including a key fee) shall be half
membership dues.
When you sign up or renew, you should
receive a membership card with numbers
on the back to track your hours. Have a
board member stamp your card. This work
card can be turned in when you renew to
verify your hours.

Important Reminders/
Information!!!!
Non-member, guest shooters must pay a
$3.00 shooting fee (after an initial onetime
use). Guests must complete a Waiver and
Release of Liability annually. The initial
waiver and subsequent range use fees shall be
submitted in an envelope and deposited in the
slot in the door. All members (with or
without keys) are responsible to make sure
that those they let in are members or
accompanied by a member. All members are
responsible for making sure the range is
cleaned up, lights and electronic devices are
turned off and all doors are locked and
latched appropriately upon leaving. Keep in
mind that a single membership with no key is
only $30, only 10 visits and they already paid
what they would’ve if they had bought a non-
keyed membership.
Safety is the most important part of our
archery program. Remember that all
shooters at the range must shoot from the
20-yard line unless ALL shooters present
agree to shoot from a different yardage.
The portable target butts can be rolled up
for those that want to shoot closer yardages
while others are shooting the standard
yardage. All shooters must shoot from the
same shoot line. Under no circumstances
should people be shooting from different
yardage lines.
Please remember to shut off lights (except
the motion sensor light on the left-hand
side) and be sure that the door is locked and
latched on your way out.
