Vegas 300 League January 5th: General Membership Meeting,
Mondays and Tuesdays @ 7pm membership renewals. New keys will be
issued. Old keys will NO LONGER WORK

Range Closures:
January 23rd: 2-4pm 4-H Archery Club Classes
and Practice
Keep an eye on the range calendar (on the wall,
by the door in the range) for events and activities
going on at the range. Some events are closed to
open shooting and other activities allow open
shooting, if there is room, while the activity is in
progress.
January 8th & 9th: IFAA & NBC sponsored 2-
day State Vegas Championship and Money
Shoot. Nampa Bow Chiefs Indoor Range. See

January 14th – 16th: Friday, set up at 9am,
Canyon County Fair Building. Friday, Saturday &
Sunday, Northwest Bowhunter Classic 3-D

Next General Meeting
Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,
January 5, 2022. We will have a drawing for a
$25 gift card to Texas Roadhouse.
December Meeting Summary
Our December general membership meeting was
held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 7pm in
the classroom at the indoor range.
The meeting was attended by 24 people: 9 board
members and 15 general members. The meeting
was held in the common area. Tabitha
Zechmann grilled up some hamburgers and hot
dogs for those in attendance. The food was
provided by the Nampa Bow Chiefs.
Bert Croy measured big game animals for our
annual big game competition. A big thank you to
Bert for scoring the two pronghorns that were
brought in for measuring.
Virgil led the meeting. The ballot was read and
nominations were called for from the floor.
The 4-H groups have been shooting on Sundays
from 2-4pm. They will be shooting 2 times per
month. Dates will be announced as they are
confirmed.

Our Tripod 3-D Shoot will be held June 24 – 26.
The Caldwell Indoor Shoot will be held January
14-16. We will have 3 qualifying sessions, with
30 stakes, 5 shooters per stake, limited to the first
150 registrants per session. There will be a limit
of 180 competitive shooters, flighted on Sunday.
(See flyer for more details.) Volunteers are
needed for set up, registration, line judges, tear
down, etc. Registration is open online.
The State Vegas Championship and Southwest
Idaho Shootout is being held January 8th – 9th.
The flyer is out and registration is open online.
Rekeying will be done at our January 5th meeting.
Mark your calendars for our annual banquet, to
be held January 29th. The banquet will be potluck
with the club providing pulled pork.
Our concessions are up and running. The
range/grill is working and was open during the
Halloween 3-D Mini Shoot, the Indoor Warmup,
and during today’s meeting.
An “emergency” Range Committee Meeting was
called by Idaho Department of Fish & Game on
November 24th.
 They are focusing on getting the range
open to the public
 The biggest issue was regarding janitorial
services
 Joe next door has gotten a bid of $350
per month to clean the bathrooms and
foyer once a week
 Discussed range fees for the public -
$8/lane, now $10/lane – will discuss
further at next meeting
 IDFG keeps comparing the Nampa
Indoor Range to the Blacks Creek Range
 Need supervision provided by Range

Guests – still at $3 per day
Robert brought up smell in the bathrooms. The
smell is coming from the floor drains and is not
due to lack of cleaning.
The Nampa Bow Chiefs originally gave Robert
some seed money to get S3DA (Scholastic 3-D
Archery Program) started. Nathan Foster
originally tried to start the program at Endless
Archery. We will discuss transferring the
program at our next board meeting. Nathan
explained the organization. The organization
educates and guides youth in 3-D and indoor and
outdoor target archery; as well as, safe, ethical
bowhunting and conservation.
Vegas Leagues are running on Mondays and
Tuesdays.
3-D Animal League is running on most Fridays.
A question was asked about our committee
looking to find us a new home. No reports have
been provided by the committee. Robert will be
getting with the committee after the first of the
year.
For individuals that are interested in becoming a
Level 1 Certified Archery Instructor.

Cake was served and ballots were distributed.

floor. The ballots were tallied by our outgoing

2022 Memberships and New Keys
The locks at the range will be changed on January
5th. If you are interested in a membership for
2022, the following is information on how to sign
up for a membership, pay and get your
membership card and key (if applicable).
Memberships expire at the end of each calendar
year. All members are required to complete a new
application and sign new waivers each year.
Locker rentals are also on a calendar year basis
and can be renewed online or in person (we
currently have no lockers available but you can
contact Kim Boyack if you would like to be put
on a waiting list).

What’s that? A free membership? Did you know
that you can earn a free membership just by being
actively involved in our club?
Our By-Laws state:
If a single membership member works at least 20 hours for
the club at sponsored Club work party(s) or in personal
endeavors as approved by the Board of Directors, their
individual membership for the following year (including a
key fee) shall be free. If a single membership member works
at least 10 hours for the club at sponsored Club work
party(s) or in personal endeavors as approved by the Board
of Directors, their individual membership for the following
year (including a key fee) shall be half membership dues.
If a family membership member/s works at least 40 hours
for the club at a work party(s) or in personal endeavors as
approved by the Board of Directors, their individual
membership for the following year including the key fee, shall
be free. If a family membership member/s works at least
20 hours for the club at sponsored Club work party(s) or
in personal endeavors as approved by the Board of
Directors, their individual membership for the following
year (including a key fee) shall be half membership dues.
When you sign up or renew, you should receive a
membership card with numbers on the back to
track your hours. Have a board member stamp
your card. Your work card(s) will serve to verify
your hours when you renew your membership. If
you have hours that have not been stamped on
your card, create a list of your activities and the
dates and attach it to the card.
SW Idaho Shootout and IFAA State
Vegas Tournaments
The Southwest Idaho Shootout and IFAA State
Vegas Championship will be held at our range on
January 8-9, 2022. This will be two Vegas 600
tournaments rolled into one. You can sign up to
shoot one or both. You will shoot one 300 round
on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Help is needed with tear down directly after the
shoot on Sunday, January 16th.

Annual Club Banquet, January 29th
Our annual banquet will be held at our very own
archery range on Friday, January 29, 2022 at
6:00pm. The club will provide pulled pork and
members will be asked to bring a dish.
In addition to the meat, the club will provide soda,
water, coffee and table service.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for you
to get to know your fellow members and our new
club officers. We will play some archery games
and door prizes will be awarded.

Northwest Bowhunter Classic

(Caldwell Indoor)
Assistance is needed with set up on Friday,
January 14th at the Canyon County Fairgrounds
beginning at 9am. We usually get done around
noon. Be sure to stay around for free pizza. We
are also looking for people to help with
registration, scoring and we also need line judges.
