A box 1 X 1 X 3 will float 180 pounds ...if sealed • More cardboard means more weight! Design effectively

A boat will support the weight of water it displaces • Have an EMERGENCY kit for race day (tape, scissors, etc.)
1 cubic feet weighs 60 pounds • You must be able to pick up the boat and place it in the water and, bring it
If your crew weighs 180 pounds / 60 = 3 cubic feet back out.

Help is needed for our annual garage sale. In the past this major fundraiser was
held in the spring but due to the deck project we postponed it until now. The
Stoker’s have offered their warehouse at Jackson Indoor Storage on 9353 Lee Rd
around the corner from the WLYC. Please look around your house and donate any
unwanted items to this club’s biggest fundraiser to help defray the cost of the deck
replacement. The sale will be held on Thursday and Friday August 17-19th 9am -
3pm and Saturday 9am -noon. All items can be dropped off starting today through
August 16th. Please no electronics. Clothes, coats, toys, kids’ items, sporting goods,
linens, furniture, etc sell good. All unsold items will be donated to the area charities.
Help is also needed to sort and to man the sale and to box up unsold items to donate
and to take the tables back to the club. Any questions please call or text Angie
Stoker 517-945-8327 or Mary Covill 517-936-6079.

The fall cleanup is at NOON and the general membership
