CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

Event management can be broadly explained as an application of project management to create

and develop large scale events such as festivals, conferences, athletic competitions, ceremonies, formal

parties, concerts, conventions and more. Online event management tools and event management

software are winning over the traditional event management methods due to their efficiency.

An increasing number of event organizers are choosing the best event management software

systems available in the market to simplify and structure their event requirements. Event management

software is a generalized term used for a range of software products that can be used to create, develop

and manage events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, athletic competitions, seminars, trade

fairs, formal parties, concerts, conventions, and other such events.

The idea of using an event management system is to make the event manager’s job easier than

ever before. Gone are the times when event managers had to run from pillar to post to organize and

orchestrate their events right from scratch using old school methods. An event management

software ensures you focus on those things that need your attention the most. A capable software would

efficiently take care and equip you with all the details with just a few clicks on your smart device

saving you the unnecessary hassle.

Most online event management systems allow you to quickly set up an events page, manage

ticketing, and instantly start sending invites to your prospective guests. The good ones will also allow

you to post your event details on social media with easy share buttons on the events page. Posting

details on social media about your event on a relevant platform may help fetch you more appropriate

registrations. These easy social share buttons will also motivate your attendees to share the event

details on their social networks.

 Most event management software’s are equipped with customization features and offer basic

templates that you can choose from according to your event needs and design an events page that you

find appropriate. Such an event management software has a system in place that helps event organizers

track the booking process, sales, and other important metrics. Some event management platforms also

offer feedbacks that can prove to be insightful for the event organizers for future use too.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

This event management system is a program where the user can log in his/her username and

password of the account and will be directed to the home screen. The program will allow the user to

show homepage, booking, booking status, event venue, feedback, and log out. The program has 3

features; these are “Marriage”, “Birthday”, and “Concert”. The user can choose whichever category

he/she would like to book, and it will redirect to payment. And eventually, once all the required

information is filled-out, he/she can check the booking status. In addition, there is also a feedback tab

wherein users can input their comments and suggestions. When the user is done with transaction in the

system, the user can log out to the system. Finally, it will go back to the log-in page.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

1. To create a event management system program using C# & Visual Studio

2. To implement advanced programming concept in developing this system.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Event organisers are continually appreciating the benefits of an online event management

system such as an event management software. Organising an event is not an easy task, especially if the

target audience is of a substantial size and if there are many teams involved during the execution phase.

For this reason, automating the processes found in the event planning life cycle is a godsend to

organisers who are still using old school methods. An online management system practically automates

the organising process and leaves lesser room for human error. You may want to know the latest

technologies and focus on an event planner software.

OBJECTIVES

1. To develop a program using C# & Visual Studio that enables the user to book events.

2. To use and apply the advance programming concept just as the

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

The scopes include the ability to book an event. They can track all their transactions made in the

booking status. The users get to log in if they already have an existing account. Username and

password are needed in order to log- in successfully. The user can log out once he/she is done with the

transaction. The limitation of this system is Account Modification. Not unless the system is updated.

The system also excludes book cancellation, email confirmation, and event promotions.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

This project is intended for the users as a solution that assists event organizers in driving
success through all aspects of their events. The recipients of the program are the clients of the projects

which are the proprietors of the business.  As a result event management is considered one of the

strategic marketing and communication tools by companies of all sizes. An effective means of planning

the entire course of event and scheduling the activities reduces monetary loss.
