Guidelines This course requires you to work on a project on Principles of Quality Management of a real-life airline company, airport or any aviation operations (air traffic control; ground; cargo; crew management etc.). It shall be done in group of 5 members each. You are required to choose any of the above and develop a case study based on its TQM. Students can use open source data for reference or creating relevance, use observations, experiences and learned concepts.
Your case study will cover the following aspects:
Company’s Introduction. Company’s Quality Management philosophy. Define Quality with the help of particular perspective, the company is providing the particular product/service with. Perspective can be established on basis of your personal experience. Company’s ISO Certifications. Identify Customers and their key needs (voice of customer). Identify Value creation processes and Process Requirements. Elaborate Process Mapping. Contextualize the offering with respect to Product Development Process. o Quality Function Deployment (House of Quality) o Description of Nominal Standard and Accepted Tolerance Range. o Fault-Tree Analysis. o Product Liability. Use any of the Quality Tools to measure Quality. Develop/suggest implementable solutions for any identified problems or gap you think needs improvement. Can provide idea with support of any of philosophy of Quality guru such as Deming. Conclusions and Recommendations. Important Guidelines Structure your report in a story telling style i.e. there should be rhythm and flow in your writings. Paragraphs should be connected/linked. Make Sure that Spellings are correct and there are no grammatical mistakes. Tables and Figures should be labeled and referred properly. Labeling comes above the table but below the figure. The length of the project report must be at least 15 pages excluding title page and list of references. Length of each topic/content can exceed the desired limit. The structure of the report is as under; Title page Table of contents Executive summary (1 Page) Introduction of the company (2 Pages) Detailed analysis of the Total Quality Management of the company ( 5 pages) Strategic Problem identification/Gap analysis (2 pages) Recommendations (2 pages) Action plans (2 pages) Conclusion (1 page) References The formatting must be as Times New Roman, Font Size 12, Line Spacing 1.5, All justified margins, Header and Footer 0.5 each Headings must be bold with Font Size 14 Do not plagiarize or copy from any source, as it would lead to deduction of marks.
