Please refer to the instructions for details on how to complete this task.

Context
Implementing best practices in Business Process Management (BPM) contributes to sound financial
management and provides visibility into how well an organisation is succeeding in meeting its goals.
It also enables organisations to align business functions with customer needs, and to determine how
to deploy, monitor and measure company resources. When properly executed, BPM can enhance
efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, and minimise errors and risk — thereby optimising results.

Businesses rarely operate at peak efficiency. BPM empowers organizations to discover, identify, and
document the processes that are used every day, but which may not be followed consistently or
completely. To ensure that an organisation is doing as well as it can potentially be, you would need
to constantly re-evaluate, improve, and sometimes even completely rework your processes.
Mapping various roles staff need to fulfil, steps required to complete tasks, and the risks and costs
associated with these tasks provides a clear picture of what a company does and is also essential to
risk and compliance management. Understanding an organisation’s business processes promotes
cost reduction through process improvement and automation. Business process mapping is a good
start for this process.
