Question: 1 (10 Marks)
A. High light the differences between BJT and JFET using a comparison table. What are the
applications of BJT transistors?
B. For the amplifier circuit given in Figure Q (1).
(1) Draw the DC equivalent circuit. Find the BJT operating point (
(2) Draw AC equivalent circuit
(3) Using the transistor ac model, find expressions for: the overall voltage gain, the input
impedance, and the output impedance.

A. Compare between the following transistors: JFET, D - MOSFET, and E - MOSFET from
point of view of: basic structure, operation, symbol, transfer characteristics and the control
equation.
B. Consider the amplifier circuit given in Figure Q2
(1) Draw the DC equivalent circuit. Find the operating point of the JFET (ID ,VDS)
(2) Draw the AC small signal equivalent circuit.
(3) Determine the overall voltage gain, the input resistance, and the output resistance

Consider the multistage amplifiers shown in Figure Q (3).
Calculate the values of: the voltage gain, the overall voltage gain, the input impedance, the
output impedance, and the current gain.
