NOTIFICATION
Engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961, over Central
Railway.
1. Candidates should note and take cognizance of the fact that this is a
Centralized Notification for engagement of Act Apprentices under the
Apprentices Act 1961 for Central Railway Units and Railway Recruitment Cell,
Central Railway (RRC/CR) has been nominated as nodal agency for obtaining
ONLINE applications from candidates and preparation of their merit list.
Candidates can submit their applications ONLINE only on RRC’s website
www.rrccr.com
4. MODE OF SELECTION:
4.1 Selection will be on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the
candidates who apply against the notification. The merit list will be
prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in matriculation (with
minimum 50% aggregate marks) + ITI marks in the trade in which
Apprenticeship is to be done. The panel will be on the basis of simple
average of marks in the matriculation and ITI.
NOTE-I: To avoid last minute rush, candidates are advised in their own
interest to submit ONLINE application much before the closing
date, to avoid possible inability/failure to log on to the website of
RRC on account of heavy load on the internet or website jam
during last days.
NOTE-II: RRC does not accept any responsibility for the candidates not being
able to submit their application within the last day on account of
aforesaid reasons or any other reason.
6. Candidates have to choose only one cluster. He/she can give preference
for the Units falling within the geographical jurisdiction of that cluster only.

Note : Please go through the available training slots given below vis-à-vis your
ITI Trade thoroughly and select the Cluster and the Units accordingly. It should
not happen that you select a Cluster or unit where there is no training slot
requirement for your ITI Trade. In such a situation your application may
eventually become meaningless, as you would not be allowed to make any
changes after the final submission. Moreover, you are also not allowed to make
subsequently or multiple applications as in such an eventuality, all the
applications of yours shall be summarily rejected.

NB : PWD means Person with Disability and Ex. means Ex-Servicemen. Seats
of PWD and Ex-Servicemen in the above tables are not separate, but included
in the total number of seats.
The number of training slots shown in this Notification are provisional and the
same are liable to increase or decrease depending upon the actual needs of
the administration at the time of finalization of selection.
8. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
8.1 The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not
have completed 24 years of age as on 01-01-2021.
8.2 Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years in case of SC/ST candidates, 3
years in case of OBC candidates.
8.3 For Persons with Disability, upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.
9. EX-SERVICEMEN
11.2 Fee payment will have to be made online through payment gateway as
part of online application process as under:
- Once the online application is complete in all respects at
RRC/CR’s website www.rrccr.com, candidates will be directed to
payment gateway of SBI’s website to make payment.
- Once the payment is successfully done, candidates will be
redirected to RRC/CR’s website to complete the application
process and download the application form.
- In case the candidates tried to make payment before and come
across some issues like loss of internet connection due to which
the fee amount has been deducted from their Account/Debit/Credit
Card but still unable to download the application, please click on
“Verify Payment” button to reconfirm the same from the Payment
gateway.
11.3 After ensuring the correctness of the particulars of the application form
candidates are required to pay fees through the payment gateway
integrated with the online application. No change/edit will be allowed
thereafter.
11.4 The payment can be made by using debit card / credit card / Internet
Banking / SBI Challan etc. by providing information as asked on the
screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne
by the candidates.
12.1 Only Loco motor or Cerebral palsy (OH) who suffers from not less than
40% of relevant disability and Hearing Handicapped (HH) having 60
decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of
frequency are eligible to apply.
a) Blindness
“Blindness” refers to a condition where a person suffers from any of
the following condition, namely:
i) Total absence of sight, or
ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/2000 (snellen) in the better eye
with correcting lens;
iii) Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degrees or
worse.
12.4 Person with Disability (PWD) who wants to avail the benefit of
reservation must produce a disability certificate issued by a competent
authority (i.e. Medical Board duly constituted by the Central or State
Government including one specialist in the particular field for
assessing disability). Disability certificate should be strictly as per the
annexure-III / IV / V / VI attached.
Applicants from these states can enter in the online application form, their
voter ID number, valid passport number, driving license number or any
other valid Government identity card at the time of online application.
16.3 Consolidated mark sheet for all semesters of the trade in which
applied / Provisional National Trade Certificate indicating marks.
Note: Where the minimum rate of wage for a trade is not notified by
the State Government or Union Territory, then, the maximum of
minimum wages of the Scheduled Employment notified by such State
Government or Union Territory for semi-skilled workers shall be taken
into account for paying the stipend in respect of the trade.
Rates are liable to change as per rules and directives issued by
Railway Board from time to time.
19.4 It is not obligatory on the part of employer to offer any employment to the
passed out trade apprentice on completion of the period of Apprenticeship
Training in his establishment nor shall it be obligatory on the part of the
Apprentice to accept an employment under the employer.
19.5 In case the selected candidate is minor then, his/her guardian has to
enter into a Contract of Apprenticeship with the employer.
21.1 For any problems in the Online submission and printing of Application,
call on 022-67453140 from 10:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. (except Sundays
and Holidays) or email at act.apprentice@rrccr.com
22.7 Before applying, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils the
eligibility and other criteria. If erroneously engaged, such candidates
shall be summarily dismissed without notice at any stage.
22.9 The Railway administration will not be responsible for any printing
error.

1. A candidate should be free evidence of any contagious or infectious disease. He should not
be suffering from any disease which is likely to be aggravated by service or is likely to
render him unfit for service or endanger the health of the public. He should also be free
from evidence of tuberculosis in any form, active or healed.
2. Height, Weight And Chest
Candidates should satisfy the following minimum standards, namely:-
HEIGHT: 137 centimeters; Weight:25.4 Kilogram; Chest expansion should not be less than
3.8 centimeters irrespective of size of chest:
Provide that where a candidate does not satisfy the said minimum standards but is certified
in writing by a Medical Officer not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon (Gazetted), to be
physically fit for being engaged as an apprentice in a particular trade under the Apprentices
Act,1961, he may be engaged as an apprentice in that trade.
3. EYES
There should be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye of the lids of either eye
which may be liable to risk of aggravation of recurrence.
Standard of Vision
(A) Visual acuity: *Candidates having vision in one eye shall eligible to undergo

4. EARS
Hearing must be good in both ears and there should be no sign of suppurative disease. No
hearing aid shall be permitted.
5. SKIN
There should be no evidence of acute or chronic skin disease or chronic ulceration.
6. SPEECH
Speech should preferably be without impediment.

7. ALIMENTARY SYSTEM
1. Candidates should have sufficient number of natural teeth (in healthy state) for
mastication.
2. Spleen should not be palpably enlarged and there should be no evidence of tenderness in
the splenic area.
3. Liver should not be palpable or tender.
4. There should be no oral sepsis.
5. There should be no sugar in the urine.
6. Candidates should not be suffering from haemorrhoids, fissures in and testis anal hernia
or bubonocele or ischio-rectal abscess or hydrocele.
8. CARDIO VASCULAR SYSTEM
1. Blood pressure should not exceed 85 diastolic and 140 systolic. 2. Candidates with low
blood pressure (i.e. systolic below 100) should be rejected. 3. There should be no sign of
any cardiovascular disease.
9. RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
Candidates should be free from all diseases of respiratory system. There should be no
deformity of chest which may cause impediment to breathing.
10. GENITO URINARY SYSTEM
There should be no evidence of genito urinary disease or any abnormality.
11. SKELETAL SYSTEM
1. The function of all limbs should be within normal limits.
2. There should be no evidence of serious deformity of the spinal column or of the
extremities.
12. NERVOUS SYSTEM
There should be no evidence of any disease of nervous system or of any mental disease.
13. GLANDULAR SYSTEM
There should be no evidence of tuberculosis or other disease of the glandular system
including the endocrine glands.
Above medical fitness certificate should be signed by Government authorized Doctor (Gaz), not below
the rank of Assistant Surgeon of Central / State Hospital
