License Upgrade Procedure /

Customers
Purpose:
The purpose of this document is to show how to retrieve the lock code
information from the CXU-A/810. Once the lock code has been provided to
Memotec, a newly generated icense key will be submitted to change or
upgrade from the current license installed.
Procedure:
1. To Retrieve Lock Codes from the Unit:
A) Using Teraterm connect to the CXU-A/810 using console or IP connectivity. (Username/Password = admin).
B) Once connected, enter the command “Show system”. The following output will be shown where the lock code
information along with the “license info” will need to be provided to Memotec. Memotec will generate the new license
key and provide a XML (license file)format.

license current information.

to enter in license mode, then “info”.
2. Upgrading License using the XML file provided by Memotec.

What is needed to complete the license Upgrade.

- The provided *.XML file from Memotec.
- HTTP Web free server. Memotec provides (HFS).
- TeraTerm Software.

3. Using IP connectivity, setup the HTTP web server (HFS) between

the PC and CXU-A/810 unit.

PC IP: 192.168.1.2/24

CX-UA IP: 192.168.1.1/24

 4. Make sure the *.XML file is saved on your local PC. Then drag the file towards the
“Virtual File System” on the HFS server.

5. Once the *.XML license file is ready to be transferred, the transfer process will be
activated from TeraTerm . Copy the URL link from HFS, then paste in TeraTerm under
the menu License.

6. From HFS: Copy URL from link, then paste in Teraterm. ( Note: If using Web GUI
paste URL at “URL of License to Install” location like example below and click Install)
7. Connected to TeraTerm, enter “license” to be under the license Menu. Then enter
the command “download” and copy the URL from step c followed by enter. The
license process will begin. Enter the command “status” will display the process of
the transfer.

Transfer is complete when entering the command “status” . The following message will appear “Last download
completed successfully”.
8. Entering the command “Info” will display the license status. All new license/s
download will be stored in the “Alternate” flash of the system.

New license has

been downloaded
to the “Alternate”
flash.

9. Next step will be to activate the new license/s from Alternate to active with
the command “switch”.
Enter the command
“switch” and answer
“yes” to complete the
transfer.
10. Last step will be to verify if the license has been transferred by entering “info”.

Enter the command

“info” to verify that
the “Alternate”
license is now
“Active”.

Note: If you need to delete the old license that is now in the alternate flash,
please enter the following command;

delete alternate

11. The license Transfer has completed.
