1. Taking into consideration the vision that was stated in the National Tourism Development
Plan 2016-2022, how do you think is the government at present is responding to the challenges
as regard the following:

a. Global competitiveness (20pts)

The government's current approach to global competition, in my opinion, is to upgrade every
tourism location and make every foreigner's journey easier. In addition, putting together a
vacation package from both local and international sources to save money for each visitor.

b. Sustainable Tourism (20pts)

• The Boracay Rehabilitation Project, I believe, is the government's current answer to sustainable
tourism, which was undertaken to ensure that the island's natural beauty was preserved for future
generations.

2. Explain the “Tourism Cluster Concept” and how it would be beneficial to the Philippines as a
development strategy in implementing programs related to tourism development. (20pts)
• I believe the tourism cluster concept will aid the Philippines' tourism development because it
aims to develop tourist attractions, transportation networks, and associated urban and capital
service centers in the Philippines, and because good road interconnected systems, air, and sea
attract more tourists.
