CONFINED SPACES REGISTRATION
ENTER AND WORK IN CONFINED SPACES (Course No: 11256) (Full Course)
This course is to train persons in the requirements of AS2865-2001 (Safe working in confined
spaces) and covers all aspects of working safely in confined spaces and safety equipment used.

This course is 2 days of training and the program is structured as follows:
Day 1 - Confined Space (includes Confined Space Awareness)
Day 2 - Confined Space (includes Confined Space Refresher)
Pre-reading material will be sent to participants prior to course. 2011 Course Dates
Participants will cover the following topic areas:
• What is a Confined Space?
• What makes it a Confined Space? Full Course
• Regulations and Legislation
• Confined space hazards - atmospheric and other  16 - 17 May (Tamworth)
• Entry permits, risk assessments, hot work permits, entry and exit register  8 - 9 June (Tamworth)
• Rescue procedures and a practical component which encompasses a rescue on a life size
dummy
 11 - 12 July (Tamworth)
• Atmospheric monitoring and testing (air quality register)
• Ventilation (negative and positive) and purging of a confined space which contains Awareness
flammable contaminates
• Harness, Tripod & Rope Rescue Device use and limitations and effectiveness  16 May (Tamworth)
• Isolation (lock-out and tag-out procedures)  8 June (Tamworth)
• Apply basic first aid and basic fire fighting techniques
• Exit the confined space according to procedure, access cover is replaced and paperwork  11 July (Tamworth)
completed in accordance with regulatory and legislative requirements
• Clean up the area - work area is cleared and materials disposed of or recycled, tools and
equipment cleaned, checked, maintained and stored appropriately and barriers and signs
Refresher
are removed  17 May (Tamworth)

CONFINED SPACE AWARENESS (Course No: 24159) - Day 1 of full program  12 July (Tamworth)
A one day, 8 hour program for managers/supervisors who must be aware of the requirements
when working confined spaces.
CONFINED SPACE REFRESHER (Course No: 24899) - Day 2 of full program
A one day, 8 hour program highly recommended for those people already trained to be
completed every 12-18 months.
