Please accept this letter as part of the application for the Therapist position being offered by your
organization through Indeed.ca. Currently, I am a 4th year Brock University student and obtaining an
Honours Research Psychology degree, with a minor in Child and Youth Studies. I am passionate about
improving and supporting individuals within the community that experience mental health distress. With
my broad experience, I am confident you will find me an asset to your organization. I have accompanied
my resume where I provide details on my work/volunteer experience and education.
During my time at Margaret Bahen Hospice, I interacted with individuals facing end of life and provided
support for them and their families. It was my duty to ensure that each person, whether the patient or
family member, was as comfortable as possible, both mentally and emotionally. It is through this
experience that I learned how mental health can have an impact on multiple people and influence group
dynamics. This would be reflected within the Therapist position through treating each family with
dignity and respect. When volunteering at the Kristen French Child Centre, I learned the importance of
confidentiality, and how to adapt to sensitive individuals including children. I was able to reflect that
each person, regardless of age, can experience vulnerability. This includes those that are experiencing
family difficulties such as divorce. As someone who understands the significance of mental health
services, I believe I would provide a positive, compassionate, hardworking attitude to this position.
Today, divorce and separation are becoming increasingly more common, and the Niagara Region is no
exception. The impact of this life transition can be difficult to process for many families. Your
organization offers these families an opportunity to move forward through attending to their
psychological wellbeing. I believe my experience with vulnerable people paired with my academic
knowledge allows me to offer that same support.
I would be pleased to have the opportunity to discuss your needs and am requesting a time that we can
review my qualifications. I am available during weekdays and can be contacted via email:
faith.munro@hotmail.com or by phone: 647-457-0419. Thank you for your consideration. I look
forward to speaking with you.
Sincerely,
Faith Munro
