Rockwell Automation 1756 CIP Motion PowerFlex Drives

I/O Configuration Profile Installation Release Notes

Revision History
07/2021 (25.06)
 A change was made to the connection open order to fix a problem with the motion and safety
connection where users were encountering error 16#0203 when the controller was attempting to
establish a connection to the drive.
o This change only affects the Add On Profiles (AOP’s) with the S4 safety card, namely the
PowerFlex 755-EENET-CM-S4 and the PowerFlex 755-HiPwr-EENET-CM-S4.
o Applying this fix to an existing profile requires applying a module definition change to that
profile. This can be achieved by following these steps:
1. Open the device profile
2. On the General page, press the Change… button
3. Change the Connection to a new value (i.e. if it was ‘Motion and Safety’ change it
to ‘Motion Only’)
4. Change the Connection back to its original value
 The purpose here is to set up the Module Definition to think it needs to
apply changes without truly changing any configuration data. Doing this
will allow the new connection order to be applied to the profile.
5. Press OK to close the Module Definition
6. Press Yes on the warning prompt
7. Press Apply on the profile window
8. Download the project to the controller

Known Issues:
Lgx00217166 AOP Core 19: It reads FW Rev 15 for CM-S4 profile instead of Rev 14.
The ‘About Module Profile’ dialog for the PowerFlex 755-EENET-CM-S4 and PowerFlex 755-
HiPwr-EENET-CM-S4 profiles lists the supported major revision as ‘V15’. These modules actually only
support ‘V14’ firmware.
