READING 1. What is the reading all about?
The reading “Jose Rizal and the Invention of a National Literature”
Was all about the history of national literature , how it started and the
contribution of Jose Rizal in the literature.

2. What did you learn from the article?

I learned that Jose Rizal as a 19 year old student, won the prize in an
essay contest in Manila and his alleged winning piece entitled ‘’El
Consejo de los Dioses”

It develops the nationalism, patriotism, and volunteerism.

It develops my nationalism because the reading emphasizes Jose
Rizal’s loyalty and devotion using literature.

It develops my patriotism because on how big the contribution of Jose
Rizal to our country especially in literature.

How does it develop and/or promote volunteerism to you?

 It develops my volunteerism because of Jose Rizal help others in a
