How does it develop and/or promote nationalism to you?
When he wrote those novels, I think Rizal coincidentally created nationalism, patriotism, and volunteerism in his novel and works. He wrote those novels so that the whole country is educated and knows that they are being slaves to their own country which created an effect that inspired his countrymen to fight for their freedom.
How does it develop and/or promote patriotism to you?
It promotes patriotism since he fought for the people he loved “For the Filipino is worth dying for “as Rizal said. Promoting patriotism by fighting but not physically, but fighting with knowledge, writing literature about them being abused and not being free, and devoting his life and works assuming that his works will reach the future generations, made novels a major encouraging source of patriotism.
How does it develop and/or promote volunteerism to you?
No one said he should do those things, he did it because he wanted to. He valued being kind and helping especially to his own kin.
