After watching the movie “Rizal sa Dapitan”, find some thoughts on the question:
In your assessment, is the sentence and the life of Dr. Jose Rizal was just while in Dapitan? Why or Why not?

On July 17, 1982, rizal was arrested, deported, and landed in Dapitan without the benefit of a trial,
however it is said that it was also kept at Fort Santiago. Rizalk is a prisoner in Dapitan, but he is aware
that this is the last time he will see his family. He chose to make their final stay as memorable as
possible by constructing a school and a clinic for him to provide free services to those who cannot
afford it. During his four years in Dapitan, he did not allow himself to live the life of a prisoner;
instead, he chose to aid his fellow Filipinos who needed assistance. As rizal was being detained by the
spanish, he was returned to his homeland, the Philippines, at Fort Santiago. On the 26th of December,
rizal was put on trial as part of a rebellion against the Spanish government. Bagumbayan, or what we
now call the luneta park, was the site of his death.

alleviate the Filipinos' plight at the hands of the Spaniards. This is how he gives back to
his compatriots. As an active propagandist, Rizal used his knowledge to inspire the
Filipino people to fight for their rights through essays, poems, and novels such as El

 In this chapter, I gathered a lot of knowledge and learned a valuable lesson about
Rizal's final days. Rizal's motives in all of his works are based on this value. Examine
the causes that led to his deportation from Dapitan and imprisonment in Fort Santiago,
and compare them to current developments in the area of justice.
