CHAPTER III: RIZAL WORKS

Lesson 9: Works of Rizal

Memory Test

1. What were the most important writings by Rizal? What did he state in those
essays or poems?
 The most important writings by Rizal are NoLi Me Tangere and El
Filibusterismo. He used his talent in writing to convey message that he not
oppress the invading foreigner. He did not fight physically but in a calm
and reasonable manner.
2. Rizal dealt with a lot of critics because he was writing from a perspective of a
Filipino. How did his writings stir the population? What did he provide that others
before him did not?
 A way that Jose Rizal is celebrated in the Philipines as a national hero
finds no match in the world. Rizal is a subject in the university as it has
become a symbol of Philippine patriotism. Some historians have gained
fame and money becoming eminent”Rizalistas.
3. Based on your personal assessment, are the writings of Rizal still relevant today
as they were during this time.
 Writings of Rizal still relevant today. Like Palmos said that it is in the
power of writings as a means to effect change that millenials can learn
from Rizal. He said Rizal wanted change that was founded on a peaceful
process because he opted for peace by using to propagate what was
peace.

Being Filipino, the beautiful face of friendship and ugly face of hate. We
Filipino people identify as a naturally caring, loving, respectful, helpful and
loyal but don’t you dare to betray Filipinos, the hell hath no fury of angry.
And Rizal the first to affirm the Filipino. Studied Philippine history to prove
Filipino had their own culture, that the Filipinos were not inferior to the
white man. But the problems as of today, the rich become richer and the
poor become poorer. The identifying reasons a problem exists. If I will
write about my life what I wanted to be when I grew up and inspire how I
achieve that goals.
Lesson 10: The Value of Science

1. How was science valued during Rizal's time? How did they view it ?
 Rizal was not an atheist hut he did not subscribe to the Roman
Catholicism of his day. The idea that science is the key to progress and
national liberation. Science is more than the rote memorization and
uncritical acceptance of facts, but a way of thinking above anything else.
2. How did Rizal relate science to the propaganda movement? Can you specify
which essays were used in giving importance to science?
 An unwavering campaign for political and social freedoms, lobbying the
peninsular government, using their connections with the liberal Spanish
politicians. Propaganda Movement, reform and national consciousness
movement that arose among young Filipino expatriates in the late 19 th
century.
3. Identify the different discoveries made by Rizal during his exile in Dapitan.
 He also conceptualized its curtain, oil-painted by a sister under his
instruction. Also made sketches of anything which attracted him in
Dapitan. His collection were three rare found species that he discovered
(dragon/lizard, frog, beetle) and fishes he caught.

 Rizal have to share his talents to inspire the next generation of people or
students that to achieve and win their goals and futures.
2. What kind of art practice did Rizal get involved in?
 Painting , sketching, drawing, sculpturing and wood carving Rizal art
practice get involved in.
3. What significant piece of Rizal's work do you closely associate with him? Why?
 Significant piece of Rizal's work I closely associate with him maybe the
two novels/books the NoLi Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo because the
two books opens the mind of every Filipino during that time of war.

I value most my life, family, special people rather than that money. It
looks like difficult to see but it can handle . But it depends the person is. I
believe that being smart people will go for the personality rather than
appearance of a person. It become sentimental because it was given to a
person by loved or to loved one and it’s more valued found it. Created by
morals and more likely an art of life. Maybe live without it depends on
someone after being for long time and someone that can provide you
same things to the prior person.

Lesson 12: Organization

1. How was Rizal able to establish different organization in such a short period of
time?
 It was organized by Rizal simply to bring together the young Filipinos in
Paris so that they could enjoy their sojourn in the city during the
international exposition.

I have to takes envision a greater goal method outcome in visualization


and involves envisioning myself. Creating a detail mental of desire
outcome of all senses. Having a good heart benefit of other, more people
than oneself. Better and more correct. It maybe said that Rizal's foremost
mission in life had been determined for him by fate and early in his life. It
grew up in the worst and best of times, a time of upheaval. Rizal and
fellow youth had unhesitatingly, and without looking back answered.
