THE 1. What is the reading all about? READING - The reading is all about including Rizal’s life, works, and writings particularly his novels which are Noli Me Tangere and El “Republic Act Filibusterismo to all public and private schools including colleges and No. 1425” universities.
2. What did you learn from the article?
- Jose Rizal is a national hero and patriot; all his writings were an eye- opener for all Filipino and the youth on how he loved this country. Everyone knows Rizal but doesn’t know completely what happened in the past. People need to know how he became a hero and how he fought during the Spanish era.
3. How does the article relate to the lesson?
- This article will help and guide the students to understand more about Rizal and Rizal law. Republic Act No. 1425 also known as Rizal law is all about including his writings and life into the subject to colleges and universities. That Rizal law is not about completely ruining the catholic churches but implying his experience on how he fought just to gain our independence. How does it develop and/or promote nationalism to you? - Through his novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, he wrote everything about how he experienced abuses and injustice during the Spanish era. He fought and stood his ground so the Philippines could gain independence. He sacrificed his life to show how he loved the country. Rizal, knowing that Filipinos were also one of the reasons why the Spanish ruled the Philippines, still fought and gained back the freedom that we deserved. How does it develop and/or promote patriotism to you? - Jose Rizal knew that the Philippines in the future would become what he envisioned, so in order for us to be aware of the past and the happenings and what Rizal did, he wrote the 2 novels to foster patriotism. He wants the country to be peaceful and free from the colonizers. Therefore, he did what he had to do so we will not experience this again.
How does it develop and/or promote volunteerism to you?
- The Rizal law highlights how he sacrificed his life and fought without anyone telling him to do so. He did it all on his own and was not selfish. He also showed that there are other ways to become a hero in our country, and that is fighting for the right not just for the benefit to the country but also to ourselves.
The Teachings of Jose Rizal Has Great Relevance To The Filipino People Especially The Youth in Order To Rededicate Their Lives To The Ideal of Freedom and Nationalism
