EXPECTATIONS REALITY

these are Segunada katigbak, Leonor Valenzuela,
Leonor River, Seiko Usui, Gertrude Beckett and
Josephine Bracken. And allegedly Rizal was
married to Josephine Bracken the mother of his
son who died a few hours after birth.

* Rizal’s death will make the Filipino stop the


revolution against the Spanish Government. * After his death, the Philippine Revolution
continued until 1898. During 1898 the Philippines
declared its independence from Spain on June
12,1898.

 Jose Rizal’s wanted never transpired, because many hinder the good intentions of Jose Rizal. One
of them are the Spaniards who are abusive and eager for power. They always oppose Jose Rizal’s
intentions because they know that Jose Rizal can oust them from the Philippines and it can cause
a revolution against the Spaniards.

2. Do you think that the ones in the Reality column are better than the ones in the Expectations column?
Why or why not?

 Yes, because what happened in the reality results to independence of our country to Spanish
Colonization that’s why we are enjoying our lives right now. Without all of these I don’t think the
Filipino people will have the right to do whatever we wanted to do.

3. Based on your answers on the first and second questions, which song used in the Song Analysis
activity best describes Rizal’s aftermath and legacy? Why?

 Upuan by Gloc 9, because the concept of the song is to exposed the exploitative officials who are
eager for power. And to show what was the real condition of many Filipinos under that officials.
Just like what Rizal did, he exposed the abusive Spaniards through his writings and show what
the condition of every poor Filipinos during his time.

4. How did it affect you and the nation as a whole?

 It affects me by knowing that not all Filipino has the same standard of living. Not all Filipino
having the same privilege that enjoyed by some greedy politicians. For the nation, it will awake
our consciousness for the true state of the country. It will help the country to have the freedom
that we all wanted.
