What are the differences in the types of English that were mentioned?
The differences of types of English shown in the video are:
Pronunciation – where the words or spoken language are pronounced differently. We also
call it as “accent”.
Spelling – where a way words are formed. British English sometimes uses lexis words.
Example: British (favourite/colour/centre) while US English uses (favorite/color/center)
Vocabulary – the words used in particular language. Even though those countries both
speak English there are times that they still got confused in communicating with each other
due to the use of different words at the same thing.
We might prefer one type of English and that’s okay. It’s not about what type of language
you have because there’s no right or wrong English. You can use what standard of English
you have or using. If it is your spoken language then why not use it? No one has the right to
judge and correct the language you have because we are all different. We all came from
different cultures and the most important is the “Respect everyone’s beliefs and cultures.”
