1. How did Mr. Goldin describe the future in his talk?

Why did he describe it as "very


unpredictable"?

 In Ted Talk, Mr. Goldin describe the future as a very unpredictable because as of
people all over the world they discover and invented new technology and it turns
out to be more powerful each day, and even us, we don’t have any idea or we
cannot predict what more we could expect in the next more years.

2. How did he define globalization through his talk? How does globalization work?

 He mentioned that the globalization has caused big changes to our world and it is
getting more complex and this changes is getting more rapid.

3. What is its effect on the world?

 Well, the effects of globalization to our world is that it promotes and increases the
interactions between different regions or even the populations around the world.
In globalization we learn how to adapt other nation principles, beliefs, and even
their costumes.it also develop and helps to grow influences of international
organizations such as the UN or WHO.

4. What are the strongpoints of globalization? How about its Achilles’ heels?

 Actually, there are 2 Achilles’ heels of globalization. First is the Achilles’ heels of
growing inequality to those that are left out, to those that feel angry and to those
who did not participate. The second one is its complexity of growing fragility, a
growing brittleness. Globalization has not been inclusive.

 Technology is actually the vital force in the modern form of business


globalization, it revolutionized the global economy and has become critical
competitive strategy. Technology has help us in overcoming the major hurdles of
globalization and international trade. And its advancement has help a lot in
creation and growth of the world.

6. What are the effects of globalization on health and medicine? How about in
economy? In communication?

 In medicine, healthcare is undergoing dramatic globalization. Now travel for


medical treatment has expanded enormously and many travel from developed
countries to low- middle income countries or often to avoid high cost or long
delays. In economy globalization led to increases in standards of living around the
world, but not all of its effect are positive for everyone, lastly, its effects as
communication between the countries becomes open sharing of information
become easier due to the globalization.

7. According to the talk, what are the things that we need in order to cope with
globalization?

 ”Globalization is the most powerful force influencing humanity at this time”


- Because it do influences all aspects of our lives, like the flow of goods, services,
products and finance so trade and also virtual trade. And it also has been the
slowest of the globalization forces because as we’ve become more globalized,
countries have put up stronger border controls. And this goes against the other
globalization trends.

8. React to the statement below: “The glory of globalization could also be its
downfall.”

 By definition, globalization is the process of international integration arising from


interchange of world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture so in the
statements, I do agree because I know that globalization is a process of which
many countries of the world are being united by as well as destroyed. One
example is, globalization negatively affects the world economy because it creates
many income. The glory is the income, while the downfall is it negatively affects
the world economy by employment and inequality issues.
