Tato is a thief and a drug addict.  He lives alone in a small, cold and dark room.  He
pays 30 thousand a day, so he has to steal every day to have enough money to keep his
room.   He doesn’t have a family; he is an orphan.  His family was killed by the guerrilla
years ago.  He has a dog, and it is the only friend he has.  His dog follows him
everywhere. Tato gets up early every day, at 6 am, washes his face and combs.  He has a
small and sharp knife he cleans it carefully before going out.  He doesn’t usually eat
breakfast because he gets high after getting up.  When he is high he feels brave and
invincible so he can attack his victim with no remorse. Once he gets something from his
victims, he sells it and buys some food for his loyal dog, and he gets some chicken for him.
In the afternoon he usually sleeps at a park and has a cigarette. At night he walks the
streets in Tunja trying to become invisible in midst of the people. He always feels lonely,
but he chose this path and he has to face the consequences of his decisions.

Homeless drug addict poet

Raul is a drug addict but he has a diferent addict too: the poetry. He was born in Valle del Sinú but
now he lives walking arround Cartagena’s city streets. He has two true Friends: Diana and Pacho.
The first one is a academic woman and Pacho is a vagabond artist who steals and paints to live. In
the morning Raul usually sells poems for a thousand pesos in turistic and historical monuments
to has breakfast in a few hours. After he always goes to take a shower at caribean sea and
smokes some weed while he thinks about the hurt of the world and the beauty of the earth. He
sometimes sleeps in the hall of the University of Cartagena becouse the principal admits his
poems. He always tells his Friends in the afternoon: I want to get high! Beacouse in the back of his
mind he’s empty and at night he doesn’t never stop walking becouse his mind always goes fast.
He doesn’t like women but is usually seen with women because he has a sweet heart.
Unfortunately his divine madness and the drug and alcohol addictions is leading him to decline. His
life isn’t the best but his poems may be the best in Colombia at the end of the 20th century.
