Yesterday I have done a self-evaluation about identifying my personal learning formula. I did

the VARK Questionnaire and got my VARK Results. My scores were: Visual 13\ Aural 9\ Read

and Write 7\ Kinesthetic 11. And the result said that people with my preference like: different

formats, graphs, diagrams, maps, interesting layouts, space, listening, discussing, talking,

questioning, notes, handouts, print, text, practical exercises, experiences, examples, case studies,

trial and error, things that are real, …

I think this is fully explains the way I tend to learn from myself. The personal learning

formula which I like best is Visual. Because I think visual things can allow you to learn and

understand more comprehensively and intuitively, which can speed up the learning speed and

learning efficiency. So, in this respect, out of the eleven learning formulas in the textbook, I think

the most useful to me is the visual of sensory. We all know that the senses can be divided into

three types, visual and auditory and kinesthetic. In addition to sight, hearing can form a kind of

echo with words when you read, thus deepening your memory. This is the reason why

memorizing words needs to be read and memorized. Kinesthesia is the second most important

factor in my learning formula. It can stimulate my motivation for learning and thus make me

more focused on learning. So I think that in my learning formula, the three senses are

indispensable.

From other aspects, I think the learning formulas that are more useful to me have these

aspects, like social\ input from others\ planning and global. In my opinion, it is a very good

learning method to exchange and share ideas with classmates. Besides, It is also necessary to

make a complete plan for learning. What’s more, we must have a global view of what we have

learned.

However, there are something which I think are not important for my study. For example,

location\ noise\ light and medium. I think whether or not to listen to music when finishing the

homework depends entirely on the type of homework. Also, you don’t care about where you are

learning and how the lighting is. Because if you want to learn, you can learn anywhere.

Therefore, I think my learning formula is to use the three senses to actively exchange ideas

with classmates. I hope these can help me to live better in the four years of university
