How do you define 21st Century Learning?

21st century learning is the constellation of learner characteristics which equips students to enjoy a high
quality of life, work and relationships by being resilient, intentional, creative and confident learners who
understand the value of collaboration, the relationship of effort to results and the need to be continually
growing and learning.

V. EVALUATION

A. Describe through visual illustrations Research-Based 21st century Teaching and Learning

A 21st century education is one that responds to the economical, technological, and societal shifts that
are happening at an ever-increasing pace. It’s an education that sets children up to succeed in a world
where more than half of the jobs they’ll have over their careers don’t even exist yet. In short, it’s an
education that provides students with the skills and competencies they need to thrive in the 21st
century.

B. Make a graphic Organizer (chart) showing/citing authentic applications of the different teaching
principles in classroom situations.

REFLECTION
1. What significance learning did you get from our lesson?

The demands of the 21st century are solving problems flexibly, thinking critically and creatively, using
knowledge and skills in new situations, collaboration and communication skills and technology literacy.
Research-based teaching means that students carry out research in their courses independently and
with an open outcome. Critical thinking, problem solving, reasoning, analysis, interpretation,
synthesizing information. Research skills and practices, interrogative questioning. Creativity, artistry,
curiosity, imagination, innovation, personal expression. Perseverance, self-direction, planning, self-
discipline, adaptability, initiative, these are 21st century skills for teaching and learning.
