Practical 1: Installation of virtual machine software

List of Virtual Machine software

• Virtualization Manager
• VM Monitor
• VMware Fusion (Mac)
• VMware Workstation Player
• Parallels
• Hyper-V
• VirtualBox
• Parallels Desktop.
• QEMU.
• Citrix Hypervisor.
• Xen Project.

The above list contains the details of virtual machine software out of which
we are going to use VMware Workstation Player

Step 1:- Goto www.google.com

Search for Virtual Machine software or u can type VMware Workstation

Player for windows 64 bit operating system/32 bit operating system
Click on the first link. After clicking on the first link u will go to the below
screen

Then u suppose to scroll down and see the below image it says try
workstation 16.0 player for windows and the next option try workstation 16.0
player for linux
So u select the option if you have windows in your system:- player for
windows and select the option linux if you have linux in your system

Then u will see .exe file downloading under process. After finishing the
download click on the file.

After clicking on the setup file it will ask the permission so click yes and u will
get the screen like this
Then Click next it will ask for accepting the license agreement click on it and
then next

After clicking next the next screen will be visible then see the instruction and
click on the checkbox which you want and the click next
After that again press next

Select the checkbox saying add it to desktop and start menu program and
then click next
After that click on install

after that click on finish

Your VMware is installed on the system.
Practical 3:- Installation of Windows operating system on virtual machine

In Practical 1 you installed VMware Player that’s is a virtual machine now we

need to install windows operating system on the virtual machine.

Step 1:- Open the VMware workstation player.

You will get this screen after opening the VMware workstation so
now next step is to click on create new Virtual Machine. When you
click on create new virtual machine below screen will appear
In the above screen u need to select the ISO image file of your OS and
then click next. When you click next below screen will appear so now
you need to mention the product key and then click next

After writing the product key the below screen appears and then click
next
After clicking next you will see the below screen where we have to
select the option. The screen says the maximum disk capacity and
select the options so here will go with split virtual disk into multiple
files. And then click next

After clicking next you will get the below screen and then you select
finish
After clicking finish it will create a disk

After the disk creation the windows will load

Here u need to install VMware tool for upgradation right now I have
done remind me later

Window is processing in the below screen

Setup is starting below

Select 64 bit in the below screen

After selecting the system will start installing the os

After all the process is done the system completes the installation
