Starting with Almighty name of Allah, who has kept us in condition favorable to us, Who has blessed us

with what He finds fruitful for us and to the best confirmation and witnesses He is the Beneficent and
Most Merciful.

As we are here to reflect and rethink our approach towards the persons with disabilities and promise to
play active role in their due inclusion towards the main stream.

So, to properly start this event, I would call upon the stage _____ to recite few verses from Holy Quran.

To unfold the determination and strategies by our beloved country Pakistan who has always raised the
voice for the cause in every forum internationally let's pay back with playing National Anthem.

I would request Mr._____ to play the National Anthem and request the audience to please stand up at
your place in respect of the National Anthem.

Disability is a matter of perception. If you can do just one thing well, you’re needed by someone.

Now I would invite Dr. Hira to come on the stage and welcome our worthy chief guest and the audience

On this International Day of Persons with disabilities it is the right moment to place the right
needs and interests of disabled people at the center of our thinking in all aspects and put our
due efforts to meet them as in New York in September world leaders gave a pledge that no one
will be left behind. This was a strong signal of the inclusive and comprehensive approach that
underpins the new agenda including the sustainable development goals the needs and interests
of persons with disabilities have been explicitly recognized in the 2030 agenda. Following the fit
path set Indus University is active and vocal in ensuring that the inequalities suffered by persons
with disabilities are properly addressed in the right forum. It could have been otherwise every
world platform like EU, UNO and ICJ prohibits discrimination on grounds of disability and
supports the integration of persons with disabilities the same principle applies to our external
action the disability strategy and reaction plan on human rights. This gathering reflects the
strong commitment of Indus University to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities in
the world.
