Stages of lesson

1.      Warm-up (7 min)

Interaction: T-Ss

Teacher’s role: Controller

Teacher greets the students and asks them how was their holiday. (where they went, what they
saw..)

2.      Engage (7 min)

Interaction: T- Ss

Teacher’s role: Organiser /Prompter

Teacher asks pupils to write down three questions for their colleagues. They have to ask them
what they were doing at some point in the past and how they felt.

3.      Speaking (10 min)

Interaction: T-Ss,Ss-Ss

Teacher’s role: Observer/Resource

Teacher asks students to pick one of their colleagues and ask him/her the questions he wrote
down. Students work in pairs. Teacher listens to them and corrects if necessary.

4.      Writing (10 min)

Interaction: T-Ss; Ss- Ss

Teacher’s role: Observer/Resource

Teacher tells students to open their books on page 46. Today, they’re going to revise adjectives
ending in -ed, -ing, prepositions, past continuous, prepositional verbs, etc.

They have to solve ex. 1 and 2/pg. 46 within 5 min. Then, they correct each other’s exercises.
Teacher observes them and corrects if necessary.

5.      More practice (5 min)

Interaction: T-Ss
Teacher’s role: Assessor/Prompter

Teacher tells students to solve ex. 3/pg. 46. Then, they correct it along with their teacher and
peers.

6.      Homework ( 5 min)

Interaction: T-Ss

Teacher congratulates the students on having done their best and asks them to complete their
progress check with ex. 4, 5 and 6/pg.46. They also have an interactive worksheet with phrasal
verbs.
