Data-blending meaning & purpose?


Data blending is basically finding common fields from multiple data sources in order to make business
decisions.
Data blending is a technique for merging information from several sources. Relationships between tables from
data sources uploaded to Tableau Server or Tableau Online, on the other hand, cannot be made. Joins join
tables together by adding more data columns across comparable row structures.
It is basically combining data frm two or more different data sources.

Purpose-

For faster, deeper business insights, data blending allows a data analyst to include data from any type or
source into their study. Data blending building blocks can assist analysts and business leaders achieve more
accurate answers by speeding up the process of creating datasets as we are merging the data.
The organisations must aggregate data from an increasing number of sources, data blending has become
increasingly critical. For example-Analysts must need to extract information from social media sites, e-
commerce platforms, and customer surveys when reviewing marketing data.

Business Insight drawn from the view.

We have taken the state wise comparison of sales data from two data sources which is Coffee Sales and
Superstore sales having common states.

The above data blending shows about that in California, Coffee Sales and Superstore sales is high which is
100k and more than 400k respectively, means the population there loves coffee and consumers are more
in California as compared to other states.

The New York state is also on higher side as sales data from two data sources which is Coffee Sales and
Superstore sales shows coffee lovers and good number of consumers in the market.
In New Hampshire Coffee Sales and Superstore sales is lowest means low consumers and lowes t coffee
lovers in this state.
