Assignment- Komal (MBA-HRD)

Case 1
Ques 1 Traits highlighted in this case:

 Perseverance: The narrator is very hardworking and did not falter from his way despite huge
challenges
 Passionate: The narrator followed his passion and did not give in to temporary difficulties. He
refused the US Job just because he was not passionate about it.
 Honest : He was an ethical business man as he never compromises on the quality of the product
Even when he was facing losses due to the competitors, he did not compromise on his quality
and that actually was the sole reason hi9s business came back on track.
 Motivated: He invested in various businesses and failed multiple times. This shows that he was
looking for his passion and was not defeated by the problems he faced.
 Street smart: He was actually he a street smart person who could identify right opportunities,
despite being not educated.

Ques 2 Lessons that can be learned:

 A fancy degree is not a compulsory criteria to become a successful entrepreneur. The narrator
was not educated and still he could succeed to build a successful empire in the textile industry.
The only reason was that he could identify the right opportunity and work in that direction. A
degree helps, no doubt but it cannot be the reason a business fails. An entrepreneur should
always be a street smart and self motivated person in order to succeed.
 Failure: As seen in the case, one may face several failures before actually getting success. Hence,
one should not stop trying due to the fear of failing.
 Innovative: To start something new, one should be able to think out of the box. Just like in the
case the narrator was able to identify a problem and come up with a creative solution for the
same which opened up a door full of new opportunities for him.

Case Study 2
Ques 1 Secret for Naresh’s success:

 Identification of opportunity: Naresh was able to identify a business opportunity even out of a
fraud. What could have been a very difficult time for Naresh in Australia without a job, turned
out to be a turning point for his life, only because he was able to identify this opportunity and
spent his time to do the homework.
 Innovation: Even after getting a good headstart for his business and earning well, Naresh did
not stop. He was always on the lookout of new opportunities and improvised and added more
aspects and lines to his business, be it the printing or the software solutions. Both were ideas
that not only complemented the initial business line, but also gave entry into totally new arenas.
 Farsightedness: Naresh was able to look into the future trends and plan his present accordingly.
As mentioned, even now the company is investing heavily in technology to prepare for the
future trends and unlock opportunities.

Ques 2 Traits

 Go Getter attitude

 Confident
 Dreamer

All these traits are being reflected through his moves and decisions throughout the case and
were keys to his enormous success.

Ques 3

Changing business is not always suggested. In my opinion, it depends from case to case. For someone
who has the right resources, ideas , time and opportunity can afford to change businesses in order to
find the right balance. However, in most cases, people may not have such opportunities and may have
to bet all their finance on one business. Hence, in my opinion, one should change businesses only if they
are very sure that their current work will not take off or if they will not be able to perform in the same.
