Scene 1
Grand mom - Wow Leah, nice. Every year! Every year you take my grand kids away from me
for your “family holidays” and I spend Christmas all alone, I thought you moved here to spend
more time with me

Mom - oh my god mom, you and your drama. You should seriously stop watching those melo
dramatic serials. It will be good for you.

Grand mom - Drama? You are so ungrateful. I don’t even have a functioning phone, what if
something happens
Mom - it’s just for a week ma, nothing will happen, plus you can’t travel! That is not my fault
Grand mom – Hmm. (hurt) Merry Christmas Leah. Have a good trip! (Walks away)

Grand mom exits Leah sighs and exits

Scene 2
Dad - Hurry up kids we have to leave immediately

Mom - yes come on now, let's go!! The cab has arrived! Jackets, check, chargers check….
Dad - We have to reach before Christmas morning! Chop Chop
(There’s panic, everyone running around with luggage to the taxi)

Kid 1- this is going to be an amazing trip, Christmas is my most favorite holiday

Kid 2 - yes I have been good this year! Santa is surely going to give me a bigggg present.
Kid 3 - yesssss ! I can’t wait to go ice skating and trekking
Kid 4- Best Christmas everrrr!
Santana - ugh.. You guys.. You and your expectations. Christmas is so boring, same people
different town, God. Don't you ever get fed up? You guys are such kids.
Mom – Santana! Stop being such a buzz kill, and excuse me young lady you are just 9 years
old stop being a Grinch. I remember a time you were crazy about Christmas too.

Santana- well I am not anymore ... All this is such a joke. I wish I could spend Christmas
without family, (all stop and gasp)
Just me, myself and I. All alone with my own space. Now that’s a perfect Christmas...

At the station
Santana - God, I can’t take this any longer. At least can I get my own coach on the train? That
way I can breathe!
Mom - Santana please, behave. What has gotten into you!

Santana ignores her mom (blows raspberry) wanders, gets carried away

Train arrives

All run off stage towards the train, parents check train number etc. Santana gets left behind

Santana - oh no. (gasps) Moms gonna kill me, what do I do? This is why I need a phone.
Sanatana: Excuse me can you…?
Passerby 1 Man: Give way young girl. (runs)
Santana: Hello, please help me!!
Passerby 2 Lady: Sorry dear, I didn’t carry my mobile. You can ask someone else.

Santana: Excuse me, I am lost. Can you help me find my mom?

Passerby 3: Speaks another language

Santana sits down on the station*

Santana: Oh wait! This is the perfect Christmas! I am finally away from my family!

The family reaches the destination

Mom – (does a headcount) oh my god, who is missing?

Panic

Dad - what's wrong what's wrong!!

Mom - Sanatana is missing !!! Did anyone see her on the train?!

They all nod no and look at each other confused

Mom - Whaaaat! Patrick do something!

Dad - What! What do you mean do something! I am as clueless as you are.
Mom - God, my poor baby. She neither knows our new address nor our phone numbers. God
that stubborn child!
Dad - okay honey, calm down now let’s go see what can be done

She roams around picking flowers and laughing.

(panics)

Mom catches collar of the guard

Mom - SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE? Have you ever lost a child before! She’s my baby. Don’t

Dad – Oh my God, Leah, stop. Go sit down there - kids go get some water for your mom
Dad – sir, please help us!
Security guard - sir, the next train is only in 4 hours.
Mom - No... That’s too long
Dad – Is there any connecting train which passes Santa Monica?
Guard – There’s a train in 2 hours but that’s full, you might have to stand the entire trip.
