Good Evening one and all present here!

I’m Sujitha, Ex- Vice President of the Entrepreneurship

Cell (Blaze); It is truly an honour to represent the cell today.

The pandemic turned out to be a blessing in disguise, especially for the Entrepreneurship cell as
we would not have been able to conduct such tremendous events without the assistance of the
online platform with panel members and participants from around the globe.

Being a part of this cell was an eye opener to the entrepreneurship domain. The role of the VP
in the entrepreneurship cell plays a very unique role as I had to liaison with both the staff
coordinators as well as the office bearers. And my fellow office bearers were nothing short of
excellent. They not only did their duty diligently but also contributed to the functioning of the
club in numerous ways.

Holding a position in this cell comes with great perks for you. Being a part of the ministry of
education, which was previously called the ministry of human resource development, the
entrepreneurship cell is a nationally recognized committee. You can get hands on experience on
important business skills like leadership, time management, financial planning, negotiation,
research etc

Apart from these skills I took back 5 valuable things from this cell. Let me share those with you.

1)  How important it is for a team leader to be a team player: A good team leader is also a
good team player. As vital it is to getting your hands dirty and working alongside other office
bearers, it is more important to delegate the work evenly and not complete all of the tasks by
yourself just because you know how to accomplish the assignment effectively and within the
time frame, but to teach and guide your fellow office bearers and let them do the work.

2) Networking- With over 2400 established institutions registered under the institutional
Innovation council, being part of this cloud helped me develop a good network comprising
young entrepreneurs, enthusiastic students, esteemed faculty members and eminent
professionals in various fields across the country. Well as the saying goes” Your network is your
net worth”.

3) Added a spark on my profile- Being an office bearer in this cell added a great value to my
profile. In my personal experience, it has got me internships at acclaimed organizations. Apart
from it being a credit to my leadership skills, it helped me gain a plethora of practical exposure
on Entrepreneurship.

Which leads me to my 4th take back

4) It helped my kick start my own venture: Numerous events were conducted, such like the
Entrepreneurship hunt, business plan competitions. This kindled the entrepreneur in me to
come up with innovative ideas and pitch in several b plans & shark tank events across the
country. Our very own cell conducted the Business Plan competition last year and the B plan
which I pitched to the panel got me an opportunity to be mentored by experts at Steam troops
innovation labs private ltd. And now I’m currently on the road to developing my own product
which will soon be in the market.

5) It made me a versatile person, obligated me to take on challenging responsibilities just to

prove my mettle, taught me that being opportunistic can take me to great heights and also gave
me a huge life lesson that when plan A fails and your backup plans B & C fail as well, you should
spontaneously improvise a plan D and execute it on the spot.

But answering the burning question of the hour, “Do I need to be an entrepreneur to join this
club?”

The answer is a big NO. It is sufficient if you are enthusiastic about learning, taking
responsibility for your actions, and striving to improve your abilities and yourself. Your
eagerness to join the club will pave the way for a prosperous future.

I would like to end by saying that when such opportunities come in your way, you can either
ignore it or take it up and expand your capabilities to get the best out of it. It is now your
chance to either ignore or take it up. I would be filled with delight if you chose to take it up and
become a part of this life changing opportunity.
