Dirty Money is a Netflix original series that tells stories about various illegal activities

such a corporate corruption, drug trafficking, money launderings and others. For it to become
more believable, each stories was supported by interviews to the persons who are the key
players of the story. This documentary series was produced by Oscar warding producers
including, Alex Gibney, Jesse Moss, Erin Lee Car and any more. The documentary series was
composed of two seasons with twelve episodes.

I will start my reaction paper in this statement from a person who play a vital role in
this documentary, “The business is not the violence, the business is not murder people, the
business is traffic drugs to get money, a lot of money, millions of dollars, that is the goal, if
you have to kill, if you have to pay bribes, if you have to destroy one country is an accident,
the goal is the money”. This statement was from Anabel Hernandez who is an investigatory
journalist that used the power of words in order to testify the truth about the unjust
government system in Mexico. Her statement only tells us about the power of money. How
money can buy people, can buy justice and how can it be a tool in doing something very
dangerous. In this documentary series money is the main subject, how it flowed in the
economy, how it is acquired and how it is used in doing something outrageous.

It says that drug trafficking is way too profitable. In order for the drug lords to put
their income in a bank they are using the legal system. One of the interviewee told about an
encounter from a person who acquired a three hundred thousand dollar loan in exchange of a
million dollars. In this situation, money again play a vital role, in this situation the banker
didn’t follow drugs hence he followed money. My personal reaction to this is that people get
blinded every time the involvement of money exist, instead of putting the situation in the
legal way, they tend to put in the other way maybe because of threat many people forgets
about what is right and what is wrong most especially when their life was on the line. In this
documentary series I am amazed on how brave the story tellers are, how bold they are, that
even though their life was endangered they continue to tell what is right and what is needed
to be heard.

I have a positive reaction in this documentary series because it is an eye opener.

Through the collaboration of all the people involved, the truth was told to the citizens. It also
gives the people the understanding of how unjust the government system is. And it also
highlighted the power of money. Money that is acquired from a dirty or illegal way is just a
waste it is good to have it on a legal way. It is way too comfortable to feed you family from a
decent job than feeding them a lot but it is all came from an illegal way.
