Tourism geography - studies the relations between places, landscapes and people, describing
travel and tourism as an economic, social and cultural activity. More concisely, it is all about the
spatial and temporal dynamics, as well as the interactions between the tourism resources Is the
study of travel and tourism, as an industry and as a social and cultural activity. Tourism geography
covers a wide range of interests including the environmental impact of tourism, the geographies of
tourism and leisure economies, answering tourism industry and management concerns and the
sociology of tourism and locations of tourism. Tourism: is the set of licit activities developed by
visitors by reason of their displacements, including the attractions and the means that originated
them, the facilities created to satisfy their needs and the phenomena and relationships resulting
from all of the above.

Tourism is travel for pleasure as well as the infrastructure and organizations that make it
possible. Geography plays a key role in tourism. Consider distance. If the distance is too far

Tourism is the sum total of the operations, mainly of an economic nature, which directly
relate to the entry, stay and movement of foreigners inside and outside a certain country, city
or region.

The scope of hospitality and tourism industry


Hospitality is one of the fastest growing industries in the world today. Hotels, events, travel
and tourism, luxury services, food services and other related segments fall under
hospitality management.

Nature tourism – responsible travel to natural areas, which conserves the environment and
improves the welfare of local people. It is tourism based on the natural attractions of an
area. Examples include birdwatching, photography, stargazing, camping, hiking, hunting,
fishing, and visiting parks.

The Scopes of Hospitality includes but not limited to: Lodging and accommodation, Foods
and drink service, event planning and management, transport and logistics service, travel and
tourism, shopping and luxury service, cruise, spas, and wellness service.
Hospitality generates revenue for local economies directly when tourists spend money in
hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues. It also helps economies indirectly
because tourists purchase retail goods, pharmacy items and locally made souvenirs and crafts
