4. TROUBLE SHOOTING
4.1. Tip for novice users
Tip1. How to the install and operate
a. Place the unit on the location of choice. Please check the size according to each model.

If you purchased the movable stand separately, moving & storage of the unit will be easier.

b. Connect the HEPA filter. If you open the door, you can find the operation manual and HEPA filter. It is in

isolation on the inside to prevent the risk of shipping damage. When you use the unit, remove the stopper

of HEPA filter.

c. Connect the power supply and then turn circuit breaker, power switch on. Check whether the display board

is normal.

d. After open the cap of reservoir, fill with distilled water.

The amount of distilled water is as follows;

Check whether the LCD monitor for water level indication is normal. After fill the distilled water, close the

cap to prevent the inflow of foreign substance.

e. Place the sterile object on the shelf inside of chamber

f. Close the door.

Push to the left a sliding handle -> Close the door -> Push to the right a sliding handle -> After 2 seconds,

the door is locked automatically at the same time while operating the wheel locking device. For more
information, refer to the operation manual.

g. Choose the most appropriate mode depending on the sterile object.

h. All processes are done automatically if press the START button.

Tip2. General Process


If you already know a general process of autoclave, you can easily resolve all problems. See the
below diagram and fix the problem.

Tip3. Kind of the use water


The tap water is high in dissolved solids and can deposit lime scale, block filters and cause
damage to the pressure vessel. Therefore, Labtech strongly recommend the use distilled water.
This water are low in dissolved solids and can help reduce the effects of tap water.
Labtech also recommend that the reservoir is drained, allowed to dry and is refilled on a weekly
basis, with the distilled water. At every service interval the reservoir must be removed, be
thoroughly cleaned and dried, and then refilled. This will reduce the build-up of contaminants in
the water that may cause blocked filters and/or damage to the pressure vessel.

Tip4. The relationship between temperature and pressure


The temperature of water inside chamber will rise by heater. Accordingly, the pressure inside
chamber will rise. If you understand the relationship between temperature and pressure, you can
simply check whether the solenoid valve is normal.

Tip5. Dry
At the end of the cycle, if the sterilizing object has wet, check the selected mode and also set
drying time. A drying phase is included in the wrapped, turbo, user and manual cycles except the
Liquid cycle. Check whether Liquid mode is selected also set to be longer than currently set time.
Total process time can be changed depending on the set drying time.

Tip6. How to reduce the operating time


In order to reduce the operating time of entire cycle, the time of sterilizing and dry phase must
reduce. The rest phase has already been programmed. Adjust the time of sterilizing and dry phase
situationally.

4.2. Fault Diagnosis Table


4.2.1 Introduction
To use sterilizer economically in safety, you need to check frequently and keep it hygienic.
If you operate sterilizer 3~4 times in a day, you should take out the bucket and fill it with new
distilled water at least 3 times in a month on average.
Malfunction / error is caused by foreign substance that’s stuck on solenoid or piping.
You should inspect and clean after you remove water and unplugging power. And check when it
become cool.

5. MAINTENANCE
5.1. Fault diagnosis
5.1.1 Introduction
A number of typical faults which could occur, their possible causes and how to remedy them are listed
below. For maintenance procedures refer to Parts Replacement and Adjustment.

NOTE: In case that a problem occurs, please check cleaning condition


inside the boiling unit as well as connection state of wiring and then we
kindly recommend you to apply below mentioned checkpoint to the error.

WARNINGS
Switch-off and disconnect mains power supply before removing the autoclave cover, or doing
maintenance procedures. During certain procedures mains voltage may have to be present with the
cover removed and extreme care should be taken to avoid contact with mains voltage.
Check that chamber is at atmospheric pressure before opening the door.
Should the door be opened beware of possible very hot water or steam escaping from the chamber.

5.2.2 Trouble Shooting

5.1.3 Part Replacement and Adjustment

WARNINGS
Switch-off and disconnect mains power supply before removing the autoclave cover, or doing
maintenance procedures. During certain procedures mains voltage may have to be present with the
cover removed and extreme care should be taken to avoid contact with mains voltage.
Check that chamber is at atmospheric pressure before opening the door.
Should the door be opened beware of possible very hot water or steam escaping from the chamber.

Air Filter

a. Remove the silicone hose from nipple.

b. Take the air filter out.

c. Place the new air filter to the direction of fit.

d. Fix the connections of silicone hose and air filter.

e. Remove the cap of air filter. (If do not, error may occurs)

Circuit Breaker

a. Unplug the unit and then remove the cover.

b. Disconnect the cables which are connected to the circuit breaker terminals.

c. Remove the fixing screw of the circuit breaker and take the circuit breaker out.

d. Mount and screw the new circuit breaker.

e. Connect the electrical connection cables carefully.

Control Board

a. Unplug the unit. Remove the cover and protective cover.

b. Disconnect pressure hose and all cable terminals which are connected to main PCB.

c. Disconnect the main PCB – display PCB connection cable from the main PCB.

d. Remove the fixing screw of the main PCB and take the main PCB out.

e. Place the new main PCB and make all electrical connections according to the electrical

circuit diagram.

f. Connect the display PCB connection cables to the new main PCB.

Float Switch

a. Disconnect the cable which is connected to the main PCB.

b. Remove the float switch mounting screw form top of the reservoir.

c. Mount the new float switch after taping the Teflon tape.

d. Make the electrical connections.

Heater

a. Unplug the unit.

b. Remove the protected cap and disconnect the heater cable.

c. Remove the fixing screw of the heater and take the heater out.

d. Mount and screw the new heater carefully.

e. Make the electrical connections and cover the protected cap

OTP sensor

a. Unplug the unit

b. Disconnect the cables which are connected to the OTP sensor terminals.

c. Remove the fixing screw of the OTP sensor

d. Remove the bolt of bottom of unit and take the OTP sensor out.
e. Mount the new OTP sensor and set the temperature to 160℃

f. Make the electrical connections.

Pressure gauge NOTE: The kind of the pressure gauge can be

a. Unplug the unit.

b. Remove the cover and the nut which is connected to the copper pipe.

c. Take the pressure gauge out.

d. Mount and screw the new pressure gauge.

e. Make the copper pipe connections carefully.

Printer

a. Unplug the unit.

b. Remove the cables which are connected to the printer terminals.

c. Open the front cover of printer and remove the printer paper.

d. Remove the fixing screw of the printer and take the printer out.

e. Mount and screw the new printer.

f. Put the printer paper and connect the cables to the printer.

1. Motor Replacement
1.1 Introduction
This Appendix contains maintenance information for how to replace the motor.

If the frequency of use is high and the load on the motor increases, when opening and closing the door of

Autoclave, problem that the wheel does not work correctly can occur.

The factors of the problem are,

First, the problem occurs when the load on the motor is increased due to tight locking system of the door and body.

Second, the problem occurs due to the failure of the motor.

If you are experiencing the first problem, please refrain from arbitrary action and then please contact our technical

sales team at Labtech. The following technical manuals are provided the replacement method due to simple

malfunction of motor

1.2 How to replace the motor

a. Prepare the Motor

: Generally we send it to you after working for product. This is never used part.

b. Separate the Cover of Autoclave

: Separate the screws that are used to fixed Cover. (Note: Quantity of screws can be changed without

prior notice for quality improvement)

c. Separate the cover of controller

1) Disconnect the fixed screw. (Note: The quantity of screws can be different)

4) Separate the communication line of controller for the convenience of working.

5) It shows the top cover & controlle cover is removed.

d. Remove the Rubber ring/Motor

1) Separate the A part by allen wrench. (Note: before working, you should be known the tension of the

contact surface (Rubber ring and Wheel). After replacing the re-assembling the motor, will help)

2) If you pull up-down slightly as it moves, will fall out.

3) Separate the three screws.

4) The motor will separate like below. Replace the new motor. (Note: Line connection should never be

changed. If you make the wrong connection, the motor will rotate in reverse. This can cause

breakdown of the motor.)

5. Fix the Wheel

1) Separate two screw on the controller plate for convenience of the working.

2) Loose slightly A part by the allen wrench.

3) Hold the Rubber ring and the Wheel in the following way. Tighten the bolt by allen wrench after holding

moderately. At this point, if too loose, the Wheel does not rotate because rotation of the rubber (passed by the

motor) was passed by the motor does not be delivered to the Wheel. However if too tighten, the Wheel and the

Rubber does not rotate due to the road. So, if you have to remember the tension of the contact surface(Rubber

ring & Wheel), your task will be easier.

6. Assembly the cover of the controller.

1) Make assembly in the reverse order of the above tasks.

1. How to check the parts
1.1 Heater
a) Check leakage of heater

If the leakage occurs from the heater, the circuit breaker is tripped. The causes of the leakage of the heater

are aging of the heater or damage caused by contact with the outside air. Most of the problem is the latter.

Make sure the leakage of heater as following method

If the measured value is higher than 50Mohm when you measured the insulation resistance by tester, our

company is defined as normal. If the measured value is lower than 50Mohm, replace the heater.

REFERENCE: Typically the circuit breaker is not tripped even if it is measured 20-30Mohm. Our
company is based on a 50Mohm for quality assurance through the higher regulation.
If it is measured 20-30Mohm, replace the circuit breaker rather than heater.

b) Check shortage of heater

1.2 SOLENOID VALVE


a) Check the solenoid valve and cleaning

Our company strongly recommends periodic cleaning. If cleaning is not done regularly, copper tubes and

pipes and parts can cause malfunctions by debris which accumulated inside autoclave. The solenoid valve is

easily blocked especially by debris and it can cause a problem. If the problem occurs due to blockage of the

solenoid valve, clean the solenoid valve through the following methods:

Turn off power switch -> Remove the cover -> Remove the distilled water in reservoir -> Separated the

solenoid valve from copper pipes by tools -> Disassemble the solenoid valve -> Carefully clean all the parts.

If the same matter keeps happening after this cleaning work, replace it with new one. The part name to be

replaced = Solenoid Valve
