Internal/External Vacancy (for hiring Trainers)


Background Information
Ethiopian Civil Service University (ECSU) is planning to conduct a capacity building training in
each upcoming academic years on a summer-based program to build the competencies of youth
civil servants (age within18-32) of the country. The program is planned to reach 10,000 youth civil
servants, who have professional background (minimum of diploma holders).

Therefore, ECSU is seeking to hire high level professionals as a trainer in a contract base with the
following details;

Ethiopian Civil Service University would like to invite eligible professionals to apply for the above
listed positions.
 Required number of professionals: 30 (thirty) for each training topic
 Medium of instruction: It will be flexible; (multilingual modality will be applied like
English and Amharic)

Criteria for screening out applicants;


1. Required level of qualification (35%): MA/Msc & above
2. Experience in conducting high level trainings (30%) – 30% for direct experience, 15% - for
related experiences)
3. Publications (10%) – 10% for publication on direct mentioned fields on reputable journals, 7% -
for related areas within last 3(three) years.
4. Performance (15%) – 15% for those who have two performance evaluation results within the
last two years)
5. University Officials’ assessment of applicants (10%): One page of description of training
delivery methodology/ demonstration.
Short listed applicants will have an interview, and ultimately selected trainers are expected to make
a training delivery process attractive and interactive.
Applicants must;
 Submit full credentials (recent CV, application letter, higher level of degree, letter of work
experiences, certificates and other supportive documents) to Ethiopian Civil Service
University, Summer Youth Training Project Coordination Office 112
 State clearly position for which you are applying for and one applicant can apply for more
than one training topic.
 Two trainers will facilitate a training process per room at a time
 Have a willingness to sign contract document with ECSU
 Have a willingness to conduct two round trainings’ of 2013E.C. summer program
 Respect all training related professional ethics which includes but not limited to; keenness to
work in a team spirit, respecting trainees and all other stakeholders, obeying the training
rules and contractual agreements, readiness and having passion to support youths, effective
time management etc.
