Depending on your starter spot 6 varies

1st Gareevoir: Psychic, Calm Mind, Hypnosis.

Last move varies a lot, can be either Shadow Ball

for mirror types or Dream Eater for sustain, also
Magical Leaf (can only be learned by Kirlia on
FR/LG by the move reminder) or Shock Wave for
never miss hits.

2nd Ninjask: Iron Claw, False Swipe, Swords

Dance, Baton Pass.

Not much to say, build stats for baton pass and

low HP as much as possible for higher capture
ratios.

3rd: Gyarados Twister, Bite, Trash, Earthquake,

Good physical sweep, earthquake

Its type does incredibly well for this region. Good

against Gym Leaders, completely sweeps the
Champion,elite4. A good movepool is :

Leaf blade. Best move actually.

Earthquake. Powerful+Counter weaknesses.

Giga Drain. Sceptile is a good special attacker and

it can regain health

1)Swampert: Obviously the best starter available

in the game. Its only weakness is grass(4×) and it
can cover it by learning ice beam. Its a great
physical attacker. I have swept many Hoenn
games with it.

2)Breloom: Shroomish helps a lot in the starting

parts of the game. Leech seed helps a lot during
battles. This Pokemon has high speed and it
covers the weakness of grass from ice. But it take
4× damage from flying types.

3) Aggron: Realy strong Pokemon with high

attack. Steel's weakness of fire is covered by rock
type and rock's weakness of grass type is

Team Sceptile:

Sceptile - easily covers the first and last gym

leaders. Oh, and the CHAMPION.

Torkoal - Camerupt is a good choice, but having a

4x weakness to water is no good for me. Also, you
can’t get Numel before facing Wattson, the third
gym leader who specializes in electric type
Pokémon, so Camerupt’s ground type won’t be
much of use. Elite Four Glacia uses Ice Pokémon,
so having Torkoal will be a breeze.

Absol - Mightyena or Absol? Absol all day every

day. Gym 7 uses Psychic Pokémon, and having an
Absol makes it a whole lot easier. Also, Elite Four
Phoebe uses ghost-type, so there’s that.

In my opinion, torchic is the best starter for this

region. Both him and mudkip are equal, but there
aren’t many good fire types in emerald. If you
chose a different starter I will show what to
replace at the end.

Sky uppercut/brick break, flame thrower, blaze

kick, strength or whatever else you want

Tentacruel/walrein

Surf, sludge bomb for tent/iron tail for wal, ice

beam, hydro pump for tent/double edge for wal

Salamence/flygon. Trapinch at the beginning and

majority of pokemon. Give it a Focus

If you're asking, I assume you either are new to

the game or want a relaxing run without much
focus needed to plan out your battles.

In either case, I fail to see how Torchic is a good

starter choice, since the first gym poses enough
of a roadblock for Fire types. If you chose Torchic,
sure, the raw power that comes with the Fire (and
later Fight) type Pokemon helps you breeze
through the first few towns, but you would find
yourself having to depend on other Pokemon or
on pure skill and luck to beat the first few gyms.
