Tide Pool
One Hundred Eighty-Two Day Solstice Challenge
Hosted by Pat Sloan At Ilovetomakequilts.com

On this Solstice journey we have to make it through winter

In your area of the world winter might be warm, but in
mine it can often be our coldest month.

The classic half log cabin reminds me that there are warm
breezes and tide pools waiting for me when I have a
chance to visit them. Block is 12.5” x 12.5”
Finished Size 12”
Using up left over 2 1/2” strips is the name of the game here!
You can do each piece a different color, alternate colors, or create a rainbow from the center out.

My Solstice challenge spans 182 between the winter and summer Solstice this year. Well be making
a quilt with 26 blocks… and Somewhere along this journey I'll give you a setting.

3) Continue alternating top and side strips
See the last page for the strip sizes.

Check block measurement

8.5” x 8.5”

4) TIP - Press after EACH strip for the smoothest block. I put a block measurement
Above the two of the units if you want to check your block size as you go. If you seam allowance
Isn’t accurate your block will come out wrong. So it’s easy to check inbetween.

Check block measurement

10.5” x 10.5”

NOTE- See my tutorial at PatSloan.com to easily

Determine that your seam allowance is accurate
